Cash bar or foot the bill? Wedding poll
So we're attending a wedding in STL in a few weeks, and instead of footing the bill themselves, it's a cash bar.

What are your thoughts on this?

I kinda think if youre having a big fancy all weekend kinda wedding, pay for the bar tab, but I get it I guess, miney wise.

So, what say you?

How do any of you feel about people who RSVP to a wedding ( or any other formal invite) then don't show up or back out at the last minute—even when you reserved a hotel for them?

They had better have an understandable reason for doing so and that reason can be verified.

I've heard some pretty lame excuses. I can't even by the work excuse unless it's an emergency such as being a doctor or firefighter. Something you just can't get out of. Usually you get enough time in advance to clear the day and how many employers would be dicks to tell you on Saturday that you can't go at the last minute. Illness is obviously another.
