Yep I use Beltronics http://www.beltronics.com/
That thing was a small fortune but after researching everything out there, it had the best range. This thing has saved my ass more times then I care to admit. I've had manufacture reps that were riding with me literally go buy one as their first defined task upon getting back home after watching mine in action.

The drive from here to my good friend in Lakeland, FL is about 1310 miles. The difference between driving 70mph and 80mph is about 2.5 hours.

Right. But over short distances, it saves virtually nothing (obviously)

Beltronics RX65 and the price is half of what I paid two years ago right now on Amazon. That's one hell of a deal for something that works like this thing does.
http://www.amazon.com/Beltronics-RX6.../dp/B0009204RI I went with the blue display which is more Jack but very visible day or night.

At least with a radar detector you can pick up the RF signal of the officer tracking other vehicles but because light doesn't reflect and scatter like RF all a LiDAR detector is telling you is that you are being tracked.

Yep^^. When the wife and i would go on long trips and I let her drive I would have to tell her "If your going to speed at least pay attention " I'd have to warn her when I saw a cop in the medium or side of road. On radar detectors my escort was bad ass. Saved me many times. My cobra was a piece of crap that had a lot a false alarms.

I just drive.
However I ****ing want usually, haven't had a speeding ticket in years. I'm not a high speed freak, been there done that, usually I cruise about 7 over on the highway Now in the hot rods I'm hauling ass everywhere. I drive em like I stole em. But usually it's not over 70 for extended periods it's just getting to a buck fairly quickly then back down. My old friend dinny was "all teeth" the whole ride in the old black truck. it gets it. There really is no substitute for raw ****ing horsepower and 4.56 gears. Got an overdrive getting built as we speak. |

I drive 5-7 MPH over all the time. Never a ticket. If I want to put my foot in it, I get up to speed as quick as I can and I don't spend a ton of time cruising at a speed way over the limit. My commute is manageable and speeding might save me a whopping minute. I'd rather burn past people accelerating up to speed than speed and have to constantly watch for cops.
