BUT, remember also that most of the best players (Heeney, Pierson, etc) are Gill recruits. So although I think the team is better right now I don't know how much Weis is responsible for it.

We're going to have to see next year how some of Weis' freshmen this year and 2015 recruits work out.
Part of it is I really believe KU has no idea how to call plays. Or they are trying to not move the ball. I really don't know which. An example from Saturday.....We've moved the ball 30-40 yards and getting 4-5 yards a run up the middle. 3rd and 1. We try some BS WR reverse, lose 3 yards, and punt.

I'm not saying Weis shouldn't have been fired but you have to give a guy 4-5 years to turn the program around.

Not when he's turning the boat's direction back into a shit storm. That was the right call. I wish we would have fired Ron Prince after his second season. It was blatantly obvious the Coaches and Players had no respect for him. Not only that, he was alienating the fan base going into yr 2. He was a colossal putz.

Agreed. I would LOVE it if Bowen was the answer. But even if he is, they're giving him this year to prove it. Who the **** are we going to beat? Maybe we can turn Iowa state over enough to score some points. West Virginia looks way better than we are. Maybe we can steal one from TT if they have their heads in their asses. I haven't seen TCU this year.

I have a hard time believing that Bowen has half a chance.

It's going to be an issue.

They are putting him in a bad situation and saying.... "Impress me and the job is yours." Maybe he will. Who knows. He's got a long year ahead of him that will likely end in someone being hired to replace him.

It's good for Z. He can see what Bowen does and then be justified either way he goes. Just like Pioli with Crennels 3-game trial. Oh he beat Green Bay! Fans will be okay with or cheap hire! Oh he went 0-3? Won't hire him. It's so transparent

I asked that person "surely Z is in some trouble right?" He said "not in the least". I don't get that, he's alienated lots of Ku fans

The most sad thing of all, is K-State fans get more enjoyment out of KU football than KU fans do.

To be fair, they've all been pretty good about the whole thing. It's nice to have some actual discussion as opposed to 15,000 posts of trolling.

KU coaching searches are fun. Sort of a schadenfreude type thing for sure. I mean nobody ever made fun of the Ron Prince hire.

Nope we were told repeatedly on how "scary smart" he was... We didn't have anything to make fun of...
