So where have |Zach| and all the Soccer fans gone?

I went to the bar a few weekends ago on a Sunday and there were a bunch of Bronco fans there watching their game. The Royals were also playing - and they were rooting for them.

I wanted to murder them.

The only reason it looks like they're playing defense in college ball is because college offenses for the most part are atrocious. And that's an understatement.

The fans I despise the most I call them 't-shirt' fans

You know them. The guys who wear the Lakers, Yankees, Heat, Notre Dame gear.....but only win they are winning.

Yep. When you get halftime scores routinely of 20-30 pts that is pretty bad. That is one quarter of NBA play.

I think the most inflammatory post in this thread is Baby Lee's comment that the NBA de-emphasizes defense. The amount of defense & especially the quality of defense played at the NBA level runs laps around the college game. That's a criticism of a long-gone NBA era, Baby Lee. The pro game has evolved since 2001.

He is uneducated about the NBA and self admitted that he only watches youtube highlights.

Yeah, really like watching them, and the fans are amazing. The rivalries are great too.

Already leaning to KC as I'm already a Chiefs fan, they're close-ish(Iowa), and KC just became the hub for the national teams. Very cool.

This thread sucks but I want to defend Zach for a moment. He didn't just disappear when the Royals playoff ride started, I haven't seen much of him in a while and who can blame him. The guy shares great insight on a major Kansas City sport, and he gets endlessly flamed for it.

Whatever you think of soccer, Zach is and was a valuable member of CP.

SKC just clinched MLS Cup playoff berth in front of yet another sellout crowd (that's 52 consecutive sellouts, btw) while the Royals were playing, no less.

The SKC fanbase is immense.

Zach, like me, probably just found a better place to talk soccer without having to wade through all of the simpleton ****ery.

I couldn't believe that - SKC are current champions, clinched their 4th playoff in a row, about to qualify for CONCACAF Champions League Champions Stage (unless we lose by 3 goals vs Saprissa) and have a great following (52 sellouts in a row).

SKC supporters get flamed on this board, as the Royals supporters used to at one point... there were literally 15-20 posters that would follow them religiously.. even when they sucked... now everyone is a fan all of sudden..

This is a football board.. I get that.. Soccer is gay and baseball is now popular cause we win games in the playoffs...

I stopped posting because its dumb.. you get shit on when you are positive about the chiefs... you get shit on when you support SKC and you used to get shit on when you supported the Royals, until now...

And you wonder why all the good posters leave and lurk instead of contribute...
