Tips on how to Speed, I wanna go fast.

I'm going to start going to Mayetta KS (just north of Topeka) once a week or so for some stuff. The highways there are pretty desolate, and going 90mph instead of 74 mph could lower my commute by almost a half an hour.

Any tips or scanners to use to avoid or locate the police using radar? With todays technologies & up to the minute information is it possible to significantly lower your risk of getting a ticket?

I usually drive like an old man, and whenever I do speed I get nailed. But then I see these people going 20 mph faster than me that never seem to get any tickets. Wondering if there is a trick I'm missing out on

The left lane isn't specifically for people who choose to drive over the speed limit because they think laws don't apply to them. It is for passing other cars that are driving slower than you. If I am driving the speed limit and someone is driving slower than me, it is perfectly acceptable and safe for me to utilize the left lane (driving the speed limit) to pass the slower vehicle.

The research on this topic directly contradicts what you're saying. You should try reading it instead of being a dumbass.

If you get back over after the pass, then yes that's acceptable. If you continue to drive the speed limit in the passing lane and other cars want to pass you because they're going faster or want to go faster then it's not.

Exactly why insurance rates go down the more speeding tickets you have.

Dumbass.

You are an intellectual titan. You should probably write a book on how all that research is wrong and you are right.

there are a fair amount of cops on that stretch, so it's risky to exceed 9 over. also, a LOT of accidents at interestions on that stretch, so another reason to drive safer.

They both cause accidents and are dangerous on the freeways.

How about you don't endanger the lives of families on the road around you simply because you want your life to be more convenient? You decided to take the job with a big commute. Sack up and deal with it like a man.

God damn I thought the midwest was all Ayn Rand personal responsibility and shit.

My car is engineered to go fast, but it would have a hard time doing that if I let it go to shit, too.

Another good point. And another reason for the limits. No one knows the condition of your vehicle and tires.

I read once that people hardly check inflation pressure tires and drive on them dangerously under inflated.

So, driving a car that has dangerously low inflated tires or is otherwise in poor condition is significantly more dangerious at 80 or 90mph than 70 or 75? Glad they're looking out for me.

Ive seen plenty of high speed blowouts with happy endings at 60 to 70. Blowouts at higher speeds usually don't turn out as well. But I don't have statistics so its a mute point.I have witnessed cars careening out of control from the interior lane lose control off in the median. They usually flip and roll after catching a swale or pipe culvert ditch. Sometimes they walk away unscathed sometimes not. Its not pleasurable to see when working along highways.

Many times you see blowouts people doing the speed limit and they negotiate successfully to shoulder from the driving lane. They are usually doing the speed limit from the outside lane. Its definitely an eyeopener when your working off the edge of the pavement and you have this develop right on top of you.

Once again not scientific but through 35 years working along roadways.

9 over is safe usually. if you can find a pack of cars doing 10-20 over I just stay a good number of car lengths back from them. A shit ton of brake lights should be a good indicator that there's a cop. Used this method on the way to des Moines last week. Made good time and averaged about 85 MPH.
