Royals problem was no team wanted prospects this trade deadline. Every trade was 25 man roster guys. If teams would have took prospects, the Royals would have made a trade IMO.

I can't believe that Friedman got so little for Price. That's an absolutely staggeringly low return. If a team like the Padres made this trade, they would be excoriated.

Nobody was giving out prospects so they got two young guys who have been at the majors (Franklin was last year but is blocked by Cano) and are under control for long time - Smyly until 2018, Franklin until 2020. How this trade deadline went, that is about as young as you could get.

Nobody was giving out prospects, yet the Cubs were able to get Addison Russell and Billy McKinney. You don't have to trade someone at 2:58. And Smyly is hitting arb next year. His cheap years are ending quickly.

i think as most people think that the Rays should have got more for Price. We could have beat that deal and not even gave up our top 2 prospects . Shitty deal for the Rays.

I wonder if Dayton is going to slide by in all this. I'm certainly not against spending a lot more money... but it seems the narrative is Glass has cheaped out again.

I don't understand why we would want to trade for Price. Pitching is about priority number 49585 right now. Batting takes up all 49584 spots on the priority list before it
