George Lynch Hairfest 2015 You Posers
Caught these guys in Bolingbrook, IL last night... holy crap, packed house and it was plainly evident that the band was overwhelmed, they were thrilled and put on a show worthy of their money. Oni Logan, aka Leonardo Gimenez from Argentina... I'm telling you right now, he is one of the top 10 frontmen of all time, dude oozes stage presence, he commands the stage even if with an all time guitar legend next to him, he just has a BALL interacting with fans. This is from a few years ago with a different (not as good) singer and George was even better than this... dude used to teach at the music school that Randy Rhoads mom ran... that how good he is... They were so happy with the turnout last night, so easy to tell they weren't bs'ing... Jimmy D'Anda from Bulletboys on drums? holy shit, we talked about that guy halfway home, dude was an animal and every single swing was for the fences. Tommy Lee? psssh, this dude makes his kit shake with every swing... probably the tightest live ban I've ever seen outside of Kiss, it was album quality music and super tight, unbelieveable sound that everyone was talking about, vocal harmonies. So yeah... talk about Lynch, Dokken, hair metal in general or just don't talk at ALL Oni Logan... the best vocalist/rock frontman you might have never heard of. Always dug Lynch Mob. But, like with all emerging "hair metal" bands in the late 80's and early 90's, they were killed to death by Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and the like.

Yep. George is a burner. Saw him with Dokken in 86' opening for Dio. At the Rosemont Horizon. In your neighborhood. All my bud's were there to see Lynch tear it up. I sang , so I was there for Dio. Never was a fan of Donnie D's clean vocal style. They had some hooky songs , though.

He was Kurt Cobain before his time, he never tried to overwhelm a song with his solo licks it was all about being tasteful and fitting within the song... sometimes a solo wasn't even needed to convey the emotion. Yep, me and my pals were joking about it all night last night "like how did Lynch go from mega arenas around the world to this, some small joint in suburban Chicago?. most dudes AND chicks were kinda fat (but not ALL chicks for sure).. then we all looked at each other and it made sense. We never grew up, not completely anyway, that's why these guys are still making money touring around... because we're only as old as we think we are, there were seriously white haired guys in their 60's there banging their heads. Age is just a number, I'm 44 and on most days don't feel a day over 25. Quote:

Wait.
This isn't the same George Lynch that played in the NBA a few years ago, is it?

But yeah, its hard to imagine what mix of drugs they have him on just to get through this 2 year "final tour"... he makes the singer from "Comfortably Numb" seem like a baby crying for teething aspirin, his movements look painful. |

Whole show from somewhere else years ago, but not too long ago...
Man, I wont bother trying to explain much further... but Oni is a ****ing fireball these days, nothing like this somewhat reserved cat. He's up in the front row mixing it up, sharing their drinks (to a point), dude has some of the most real stage talk I've ever heard... nothing pre-planned and that was obvious, he'd just gab for a few seconds then George would come to the mic and say... Yeah man, thought I had something cool to say there for a second and then I just listened to him for a minute and realized that I'll play the guitar and let Oni talk... big laughs from crowd because it was true, when George tried to talk you could hardly hear him, he's such a mellow guy he's not used to blaring himself above others without a guitar. Good Gawwwd what a great show... Georges playing is at its peak now that he's 60 and Oni has literally mastered the stage next to his legend, that concert clip I embedded from 3 years ago honest to God doesn't do justice to Oni these days. tight, Tight, TIGHT ASS BAND... album quality live, what else do you want.
