Every ****ing spring. Surprisingly they're not as bad this year as they have at times in the past.

Shit yes. This stuff is like ant-crack. They flock to it to eat it up then disappear after a few days...

I'd get them coming in somewhere along an outside wall and underneath the dishwasher. I sprayed antkiller along the foundation outside and put a couple "ant trap" things under the dishwasher (they carry the 'food' back and it kills all their friends). That seemed to work within a couple days.

I nuked everything, came in the house with a runny nose and could not breath, not sure who will die first, me or those stupid ants.

I nuke them around the first of May. I put Terro outdoor traps out around the foundation, and use whatever is on sale in the drop spreader. Haven't seen any so far, but I'll probably nuke the yard again in another couple weeks.

Bleach in the kitchen and ant traps seem to work.

I thought I had termites a few years ago and bought some crazy $50 a jug pesticide that was supposed to last 7 years (used half), mixed that with another probably 1/2 bottle of regular bug killer in a 2 gallon sprayer and went to town. Sprayed a 5 foot perimeter, eat that bugs.

I was in California this week, and went out for a run. I was standing on the sidewalk stretching a bit to warm up, and looked down to see the smallest ants I've ever seen. There were a bunch of them going about their normal business, but they were so small that I couldn't even see their legs and waists. They were amazingly small.
There's a lot of size variability in ants. We have a couple of different types in our yard, and one type if your normal mid-sized ant and the other is some amazonian giant ant that you can easily see 10 feet away. Those big ants are probably 20 or 30 times the size of the tiny California ants that I saw.
