Who Has The Bigger 2015 Season...Maclin or Kelce?

Alex Smith tends to spread the ball around but Jeremy Maclin is an awesome WR coming off a career season who seems to be developing a good report with Smith. Maclin is coming off his best NFL season of over 1300 yards & 10 TD's, just turned 27 last month, is very familiar with Andy Reid's offense and will be the featured WR in this offense.

Travis Kelce is coming off his breakout NFL season where he led all WR's/TE's in both yards and TD's racking up over 800 yards despite starting slow coming off a severe knee injury with a long recovery in his rookie year. Kelce is now 100% healthy going into the 2015 season and is going as high as the 2nd TE off the board in early fantasy drafts ahead of even Jimmy Graham (and never lower than 4th). Can he live up to the lofty expectations? If so who has the bigger season Kelce or Maclin?

For all of us. They're going to report on their offseasons like a fourth grader would report on their summer vacations.

Kelce deserves a boost in targets because he was one of the most efficient and productive players in the NFL with his targets last year. He caught 67 of his 87 targets (77%) for 9.91 yards/target. His catch % and yards/target are better than Gronk and Graham. No wonder he's asking for the ball in OTAs. Maclin averaged 9.26 yards on his 143 targets, which is a pretty good average, but his catch % was only 59.4%. I don't think Maclin gets as many targets this season, so he'll have to increase his catch % to above 70% and maintain his yards/target to break 1000 yards. Kelce's proven what he can do with more targets, so I think he gets the most receiving yards.

He was never the #1 WR in those years. That was DeSean Jackson, who topped 1,000 yards twice in those years under Reid, went over 900 twice, and had around 800 in 11 games in 2012.

Maclin SHOULD push 1,000 no problem. Kelce though should too, so I think it is up to injuries.
Reid doesn't have much history with 1,000 yard receivers
Alex Smith doesn't have much history with 1,000 yard receivers
Maclin has only had 1,000 yard season

I'll believe it when I see it. If Smith decides to play like he did at the end of 2013, where he just chucked it and didn't take the easy way out... maybe. But I think in 2015, Smith will have a dominant defense in KC. When the defense is dominant, that's when Smith plays the most conservative. When he's conservative, he's going to throw mostly checkdowns and short shit. I'm skeptical but I really hope I'm wrong.

I just think we have too many weapons at this point to see a single receiver over 80 catches, with Maclin, Kelce, Wilson, Conley and DAT. I think we'll see things spread around, but Smith will continue to focus on TEs, as well.
Definitely all of this.
