That also does nothing to address the end-of-series tease where Walt grabs the ricin.

It's fiction and some viewers enjoy rooting for the bad guy come story time.

No hyperbole, that was the single best hour of television I've seen, by a wide margin.

I think the ricin is for either Jack. He can't kill Jack himself without bringing the AB wrath down on everyone he's ever known or cared about.

My son watched it with me. Only his 3rd episode he's seen. Told him it was the best, most intense one in 4 yrs.

My takes:

-Glad they gave Hank a decent farewell. Great character.

-Walter White is a complex dude. One minute he's crying like a girl then the next he's telling Jesse how he let his girlfriend die.

-Jesse will be brain dead in a week. He was already a depressed junkie. Now, he looks like a scene out of Pulp Fiction. Tied to that tether like a dog. No way he wants to live.

- What a shitty day it was for Junior and Marie, huh?

- I didn't catch the part about Walter clearing Skyler at the time. That's why I read CP.

- I thought it was ironic that Marie and Skyler told Junior BEFORE they knew about Hank's death. Had Skyler known that, she could've avoided telling her kid about his dad.

- If Skyler did realize what Walt was doing on the phone, she's as good (evil) an actor as Walt.

- Right after the shooting when Walt was in the desert, I was wondering how he could ever go home. Guess they needed a violent fight to split up the family. Didn't see that coming.

- Back to the desert...what the hell was Walt thinking? Telling those guys about the money?

- We're all wondering how it ends. I say Walt uses that gun on the Nazis to get his money back. Doesn't even realize that Jesse is working for them until he busts in. They both get away BUT Jesse is such a wasted brain he kills Walter and then shoots himself!

This. You can't outright kill Jack, unless you wipe out everyone with no witnesses.

I'd say Walt is back because he's seen the blue again... which means that he thinks Jesse may still be alive.

These final two episodes are going to be crazy.

I don't think he deserved the death penalty, just as Walt didn't think he deserved it either. Hank, however, made that outcome much more likely.

I'm not "rooting" for Walt, although I'm not entirely sure what that means. I also wasn't upset that Hank left the show.

Ultimately, I'm not really rooting for anyone but Holly.

I disagree with the bolded. Like Hank said, Jack knew he was going to kill him when he drove up to the scene.

I'm not sure how she could have mistaken it; it was clear.

He made it more likely by going it alone (although with Gomey). Had he employed the proper channels, the full force of the DEA could have come down on Walt. Hank valued the credit/his job more than his own safety. In the end, it was a poor gamble in a deal with someone that he knew to be as dangerous as Walt.

I rooted for The Joker when watching Batman, Tommy DeVito and Jimmy Conway in 'Goodfellas', Hannibal Lecter in 'Silence of the Lambs' and you bet your ass I rooted was pulling for Tony Soprano in...well, if I have to name it...

There's no story without the 'bad guy' and 95% of the time the people associating with the bad guy are ambiguously good at best.
