It is possible, but it will have to happen first before I consider that possibility. If the coaching staff thinks he is ready to go week 1, I will accept that gladly. However, I do not expect that at all.

Alex Smith is nothing if not predictable. He'll come out and do his thing in the steadfast, monotonous, stodgy fashion were all used to viewing. Barring injury he's safe for 2017 and so what if fans call for an early start for PM2. Reid is a seasoned veteran from Philly, I'm sure he's dealt with worse. If loudmouths like claynus want to yell, let them go pound sand and make asses out of himself as he excels at so wonderfully. It makes no difference what so ever because when push comes to shove actual big boys are in charge of this NFL team and the claynus of the world are nothing more than message board wannabe.

If Smith is hurt in week 2 and is going to be week to week, no question at all that you play Bray.
If Smith went down in week 12 with a season ending injury, then it's a little bit of a different calculus maybe, but I'm still erring on the side of playing Bray. The upside to either of which is that if Bray plays well, he might be trade bait. I guess I don't know his contract situation but if we have some years left on Bray's deal, maybe that would be an added bonus. |

Would I risk all of that for more money? Nope. Not unless there was the potential for a ring. Maybe he will... I have no idea. But it would surprise me.
