Kansas Supreme Court Overturns Carr Brothers' Death Sentences
If you will recall, there was quite a long thread of discussion on CP when these scumbags were on trial. The story is truly disgusting. Wish I could find the original thread. Updated: Fri 10:45 AM, Jul 25, 2014 TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) -- The Kansas Supreme Court has overturned the death sentences of two brothers convicted of capital murder in the shooting deaths of four people whose bodies were found in a snow-covered Wichita soccer field in 2000. The state Supreme Court on Friday also struck down three of the four capital murder conviction each against Jonathan and Reginald Carr. But it upheld one capital murder conviction each. Their cases will return to Sedgwick County District Court for further hearings and a new sentencing. The court's majority overturned the death sentences because, it said, the presiding judge failed to have separate proceedings for each brother. In overturning most of the capital convictions, the majority said the instructions to jurors were flawed. Posted by Greg Palmer http://www.wibw.com/home/headlines/K...#disqus_thread |

How the **** can you only hold ONE capital murder conviction for each?
They murdered them all at the same ****ing time. Anyway they'll just get convicted again in a new hearing. Waste of money. |

I don't know where you go in life after something like that happens to you. I would be in an institution. The person who survived might have gotten it the worst out of all of them.

"What happened to those boys who shot those kids?" Jonathan asked. "They've been charged with capital murder," Otis replied. "What's capital murder?" "Well, anyone convicted of capital murder," Otis explained, "can get the death penalty." "How's that done?" Jonathan queried. "Lethal injection," the detective said. There was a long pause. Then Jonathan asked, "Do you feel anything [from that]?" "We've never been able to ask anyone," Otis replied."

That's called a lynch mob, and they're not good things. I know americans hate due process, but it actually is kind of important. |

There should never have been any question what to do with these brutal ****ing animals. A trial was a waste of taxpayer money.

My wife went to school with one of the victims and knew each of them personally. The fact that these animals are still alive while the Carr brothers get to live off of the taxpayers dime is very upsetting to her and angers me. If you torture a group of people, rob them of their possessions and dignity, shoot them execution style, and there is no doubt that you are guilty, you can take your due process and shove it up your ass. These ****ers do not deserve to live, period. |

I still see life with hard labor and without the possibility of parole as more punishment then the death penalty.

I don't. When they go to bed at night, they get to relive every pleasurable moment they had while they forced someone else to suffer. I'd rather rob them of that satisfaction.

Or they go to bed every night exhausted and in pain knowing the next day will bring the same grueling and body destroying work. They will know they will never be free again and will be worked till they shuffle off the mortal coil.

It really should be up to the victim's family to decide the fate of the murderers.
