Feel free to discuss any future speculation, theories. Anything from the books is fair game to post. Everything that has been broadcast on TV or from HBO. No spoilers needed.

1. If you watched or know the events that will take place in a unaired episode that has not been broadcast on HBO, you must put all the information and comments in a spoiler tag.

My prediction:

Dany. Tyrion will return to Westeros and, after the death of Tommen, supplant Cersei and gain the Iron Throne. The Lannisters and Starks will ultimately ally (through Tyrion and Sansa's marriage) but will lose in a big set-piece battle at the end, in which Dany faces off with and reluctantly kills Tyrion in a superbly tragic scene. Jon will defend the north from the White Walkers and kill the Night's King.

Who won't make it out of this season? Littlefinger, who (for reasons of atonement) will commit the Vale forces to help unseat Ramsey Bolton and reposition Sansa's family back in power. However, he will die in the attempt.

I don't see those two facing off. But, its GOT, ya never know.

I think due to Winter there will be a Kingdom of the North and a Kingdom of the South in Westoros.

Dragons don't do well in the cold and winter is coming.

Yeah, I know, but I wanted to be super-especially careful. If nothing else, I know more about medieval history than probably anyone here, and it is, at its core, based on the Wars of the Roses.

Where is the Tyrell forces in your scenario? Wiped out by the faith this season?

I don't see those two facing off. But, its GOT, ya never know.

They'll still be around, but not part of the central three-sentence summary. My guess is that they side with the Lannisters but abandon (or outright betray) them during a crucial battle.

Why would Tyrion turn on Dany after he got her all the way to Westeros? Because Tommen dies?

I don't read that as Tyrion turning on Dany, so much as Tyrion taking the throne Dany believes is her birthright and her taking him out.

Is the right to the throne determined by capability or power? Interesting question as I don't have any quibbles with Dany, but Tyrion is a sage adviser at the least and a fair and just ruler at best, compared to Dany who has 3 bad mofos on retainer and can walk through flames. They'd be a great alliance, but can alliances endure at that level? Or does someone always have to be Mozart and someone always Saliere?

Dany doesn't do well reasoned consideration. She is impulsive and goes to force at first blush. She is going to march her army to Slaver's Bay and basically break the peace that Tyrion established. That will not go well and bog her down there. She probably won't take Varys and Tyrion's advice. Basically, all that she has, has fallen in to her lap. She puts up her own roadblocks to her goals.

Compare with Tyrion, Baelish, or even Jon who are more reasoned and less susceptible to square peg round hole thinking. Jon even sacrificed short term power for a long term goal. The Nights Watch needs able bodies to fight The Others, so he granted amnesty to the Wildlings.

TLDR: She is basically a less psychotic Ramsay than a Tywin.

I don't think the Ramsey comparison is fair, even with the 'less psychotic' proviso. She is narcissistic, with good reason [fireproof and dragon-backed], and while her decisions appear capricious she is clearly driven by moral clarity, reminiscent of the staunch abolitionists of the American past. If anything, she's a more powerful John Brown than a Lincoln.

Even staunch abolitionists like Fredrick Douglass opposed John Brown and condemned him because his actions would only harden the opposition rather than make them open to debate and argumentation.

IOW: if you back people into a corner don't be surprised when they resist with violence and don't care that much for you no matter how righteous your cause is.

and of all the front runners she would be the worst. If she took over there would be constant small wars as she tries to break the houses.

This being GoT where foreshadowing is so important I could see Tyrion gaining control of the dragons that Bran doesn't control or Dany leaving them to him so she can go lead a humble existence by her true love's (Mormont) side.

Daenerys Targaryen, 'Mother of Dragons,' Daenerys the 'Unburnt,' is Azor Ahai returned.

She fulfills the ancient prophecy: Star, Salt, Smoke, Sword, Sacrifice, Dragon, Blood. With Daenerys' brother dead, that makes her the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

The big twist may be that Jon Snow and Daenerys share the same noble mother.

Interestingly, Snow slightly fits into Azor Ahai's prophecy - The magic sword, coming back from the dead. Will we eventually see him riding one of Daenerys' dragons in the future?

Glad they brought back the Dothraki storyline. Got to love the muscularly men.
