The Big 12 Commisioner questioning Ohio State's selection to the CFP is dumb for two reasons... 1) Ohio State went on the road and dismantled Oklahoma, i.e. your conference's best team this year and 2) Trying to analyze Ohio State's inclusion in the CFP in 2016 vs. TCU's exclusion in 2014 is naive to a very basic premise... Ohio State is a college football brand name/big TV draw and TCU is not. Like it or not that is the reality of a playoff system that involves a subjective selection process.

Or, just take the 8 best teams, regardless of conference.

I don't think a Conference Championship is a prerequisite for making the playoff. Conference divisions aren't even - look at the SEC and Big 10. However, if you don't win your DIVISION, you shouldn't be in the playoff unless the team that won the division is also in the playoff.

Northwest Missouri State wins 35-20 in the D2 Semi-final
Play next weekend in KC vs North Alabama. They suffered a lot of injuries. Almost like Ferris state was looking to hurt them. Hope they can win next week.

Minnesota Gopher Football team threatening boycott of bowl game
Gophers players plan to boycott football; bowl game participation in jeopardy 10 Gophers have been suspended from the team following the school's sexual assault investigation. By Joe Christensen Star Tribune DECEMBER 15, 2016 — 6:34PM Sources have told the Star Tribune the University of Minnesota football players will announce Thursday evening that they are boycotting all football practice and team activities — even their Dec. 27 bowl game if need be — in protest of 10 teammates being suspended from the team Tuesday in the latest fallout of a September sexual assault investigation. The Gophers had a players-only meeting Thursday afternoon and later brought in head coach Tracy Claeys to inform him of their plans, sources said. According to two parents of players, all of the team’s players are planning a united announcement Thursday evening to say they are immediately boycotting team activities and are willing to boycott the Holiday Bowl if “their demands are not met” — a reference to their teammates being reinstated and reversing the decision to suspend the 10 players. Half of the 10 players suspended also face expulsion from school, the players’ attorney, Lee Hutton, said Wednesday night. Hutton said the university’s Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action office recommended expulsion for Ray Buford, Carlton Djam, KiAnte Hardin, Dior Johnson and Tamarion Johnson; one-year suspensions from the university for Seth Green, Kobe McCrary, Mark Williams and Antoine Winfield Jr., and probation for Antonio Shenault. The school discipline comes weeks after a criminal investigation resulted in no arrests or charges. Some of the players were directly accused by a female student in the alleged sexual assault in the early morning hours after the Gophers’ first game on Sept. 2; the involvement of others is unclear. The woman’s claims have been documented through police reports and court testimony, and ultimately led to the EOAA investigation. University of Minnesota athletic director Mark Coyle briefly spoke with the media on Wednesday. Hutton, who is representing all 10 players, said he is working on their appeals. Whose decision? University President Eric Kaler said in a letter to university boosters dated Wednesday that Claeys made the decision to suspend the players, with support from athletic director Mark Coyle. Coyle echoed that statement when he briefly met with media on Wednesday night. But two sources said Thursday that the decision was made at a level higher than Claeys. The sources expected Claeys to support his team’s boycott. The Gophers are scheduled to play Washington State on Dec. 27 in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. Early signals Midday Thursday, several Gophers players took to Twitter in what appeared to be a show of unity with their teammates. They tweeted about “family” and made references to standing by each other, using the hashtag #WeHadEnough. From 2017 co-captain Jonathan Celestin: “#WeHadEnough I’ll ride for my family any given day.”

But in today's world of uber scrutiny. It looks like that is not the thing to let happen.
