Anyone ever work at Home Depot?

Starting first night shift in about an hour or so, freight team.

Really nervous, anyone ever work there or still do? It's only part time and just to get some $ on the side.

When you have no Arby's within about 45 minutes you don't waste space on fries.

At the time the ARBY-Q was on and I know I got two of those and two BRB's at least twice...

The Arby-Q....jesus that thing is a disgrace to food. Here in Tulsa there are literally 4 Arby's within a 3 mile radius. And I never see anyone there. Amazes me.

They are at What A Burger.

I had a hankering for a rueban before St Patty's Day last year. Stopped at Arby's and got one and it was a beast. I couldn't finish it all but was very satisfying. Seasoned curly fries I hate I dont get the attraction.

Most of the Lumbar yard have gone tits up or deal with commercial it seems. If I need lumber I have better luck at Sutherland's but HD just pisses me off especially the piss poor lighting in the place. For general hardware and advice from knowledgeable folks I go to A&N Hardware in NKC. When I need fittings and such on spur the moment Ace Westlake it a few blocks away. For Harbor Freight it serves a purpose like a one use tool you dont want spend an arm and a leg on. But for heavy use tools you would be a fool to buy there. I did buy a self coiling compressor hose that has been going strong for 5 years +.

And for the fellow starting at HD I came off as snippy and a jerk. I have no problem with working there I would as a second job if I didn't have to travel so much. My problem was people expecting solid advice from the floor personnel. They are simply not trained in every aspect of what is sold in that store.

You should have chosen Menards. From what I've witnessed, if you show up and drool on yourself while the customer does their own searching and loading, you get paid.

Menards....an equal opportunity employer.

I was talking with an associate today at home depot who was just finishing up moving a ton of new appliances to the floor. We talked about how much work it was to move them all and how many there were for the new appliance initiative. He told me that they were supposed to be taken to a storage trailer but that the trailers weren't there yet so a manager told him to put them all on the sales floor. Just as the last appliance had been brought out from receiving.....guess what? The trailers showed up......guess what? All the appliances that had just been moved got moved again.

Doesn't this kid live in Canada? If so, make sure you get free poutine for employee meals.

So?

Why don't people realize they get paid to do what they are told? I don't care if I tell you to dig a hole and then fill it in, I'm the one writing the checks, when you start then you can bitch.
