Top Video Game of all time...

I've been wanting to do this for a while now. Let's do a "Rainman type" poll or two.

Please suggest your ideas for the best game of all time. The news that we might finally get a new Red Dead Redemption game inspired me to do this.

In my opinion, RDR is probably it. However, that's not really fair. I absolutely love several other games but I don't know if I've ever played anything as much as RDR. Maybe Bloodborne or Witcher 3 but it's close.
I'll start us off with a few:

1. Red Dead Redemption
2. Witcher 3
3. Call of Duty; Modern Warfare (I did like the first 2)
4. Grand Theft Auto V
5. Bloodborne

There's a few to get us running. I'll give you guys a few days, maybe a week and we'll start voting.

Ah, nice. Doom and Quake, definitely worth a mention. I have actually quite enjoyed the latest Doom game, to boot.

well i did both - only opposite of how you did - yes i agree - sometimes I'd lure volatiles in via firecrackers and shock them on the electric fences. I miss my console.

also I liked blowing up that guy in the front of the main safe-house - the guy digging for worms and then I'd gaffle his weapon(s) - I blew him up w/ a propane tank. Also that fishing trip mission was a complete joke!

Yep. It's sad to say as a kid who grew up a huge Goldeneye fan, but Goldeneye is actually a pretty bad multiplayer experience, especially when compared to more modern shooters. As you said, spawns are a huge problem, the guns are wildly unbalanced, and many of the levels are really poorly designed and lend themselves to the first two issues becoming game breaking. Anecdotally, it seems like Since this was before online gaming, most people never knew these things existed. I have a 64 at my house and people will come over and say "hey goldeneye I was the best at that game lets play" , and I'll run them off the map winning 15-1 or so, not because I'm gods gift to video games, but because certain strategies are unstoppable. They don't want to play anymore after that...

with the mention of quake I gotta throw Unreal Tournament out there. Not that I feel it's a top game of all time but it was better than quake in my opinion.

UT always had a great engine and Instagib mod was fun as shit. 1 shot shock rifle kills. Good times

Super Mario Brothers has to be number one.

GTA has to be in the top 10, but I think GTA3 should be above all the other ones. 1 & 2 were kind of fun, but GTA3 changed everything

It's highly disappointing that in the newer GTA games you can't heal your life with prostitutes.

IMHO, Vice City is greater than GTA3.

Unreal Tournament was a great game. Loved me some Tribes as well.

GTA changed everything but they perfected it with San Andreas and Vice City, IMO.

Choosing between those two is basically just choosing what rubs you the right way. 90s west coast gang culture or 80s Miami drug running.
