Annoying Neighbors...

People behind us put up a new privacy fence and faced the unfinished side to all the neighbors.

They had a fence company install it. You would think the fence company would be aware that it is a code violation to face the unfinished side to neighbors.

If they had installed correctly there would not not be a 5" gap that I now have to fill between the new fence and our adjoining fence so our dog can't get out.

Thanks for reminding me of that. Now I have to go catch a beaver and train it to chew the trunk so it falls away from us.

I thought our two trees were silver maples and we have no problems like that at all. Maybe ours are some different variant or something. They just grow leaves and are generally pleasant.

I'm really bummed that they're getting old. The tree maintainers said that we'll have to consider taking them down in the next 5-10 years. Per htismaqe's comment, they're starting to get a little internal rot.

When we were new to our house we had to take down a pretty large catalpa tree because it was right next to our foundation. That hurt. The sweet gum article that I linked earlier also made a negative statement about catalpas, but I think they're gorgeous trees.

Fortunately, we have so many opossums that come up to eat the cat food outside that we don't have much left for the raccoons.

I need to just sell this place and move out to the country on property that has mature pine and oak trees.
Sycamore trees suck. The first house my wife and I bought together had about a 50 foot Sycamore tree in the backyard. I spent every summer weekend picking up bark, twigs and branches from that piece of shit and then in the fall the amount of leaves it dropped were ridiculous.

The way my street is all the leaves from that sycamore end up in my yard and is a total pia to clean them up. The amount and the size of leaves is insane.

Yep. It's really really soft wood and sheds in a light breeze.

You should get yourself a bunch of Palo Verde trees. Yellow snow. I hate them and always have them removed from a new place.

No HOA. Have to report to city.

I am probably just going to plant some bushes so I don't have to look at it.

I hate neighbors.

Call the city on them and have the city inspector come out on a code violation. I know our city inspector by name. I also work part time for the city golf course, so we see each other once in a while.
