I sing this to my dog. 65 pound, lab pit mix that would rip the balls off an intruder, and thunder turns him into a whimpering pansy. might as well be a cat... He's not a cuddly dog. curls up by my feet at night. If he's curled up on my pillow, I know a storm is about to hit.

I've got hail insurance bought on the wheat. Gonna buy some on corn.
Bring it. At least hail will melt down to water. |

Watch https://tvnweather.com/live tomorrow for live streams from chasers. It gets really intense, but then again I'm a weather guy.

I haven't looked at the forecast models since about 4:30. IF I were to chase tomorrow, I'd probably aim to be somewhere between Wichita and Salina around 4pm. But I can't tomorrow.
That said, the models were still all over the place, so it won't be until the morning at the soonest that things will become more clear. And it all depends on the location of the developing low pressure plus morning precipitation and cloud cover. The risks put out already follow the chance of everything setting up, storms forming along I-35/135 between 3-5pm, greater tornado threat in central KS, greater large hail threat in central OK. Storms moving into MO between 9-11pm as a line with a wind threat. But... One of the models that's been performing better has the low further south east, a stronger cap, and weaker surface winds. That would fire a few storms in E OK and E/NE KS around 7pm, and with a weaker server threat. Still another model that's usually not bad is banking on greater cloud cover and lower temperature, resulting in run of the mill storms. If it pops, they're gonna pop. If not, then little will happen. It's an uncertainty with two extremes. |

I wouldn't want to be a chaser tomorrow. Every dipshit will be out in full force.

That's true as well. Though I've found that the "dipshits" typically don't like going off the main roads too much. I take my Delorme maps and head for the back roads as much as I can.

I'd just be comcerned about a main road being the best exit route, which will be flooded with morons.

Instead of a severe weather thread, can we just make this a weather thread in general?

What I said above still seems true but with these modifications (just going off the SPC, I won't be able to do my own until closer to noon...)
Not much has changed, other than this early morning severe thunderstorm watch. Any storms that roll through here morning/afternoon could have strong gusts. And it's looking more likely that storms in KS later today will be more widespread and less discrete, which means with the hail threat I would not want to be chasing in them. |
