I'm pretty spoiled in that we have a tamale guy that sets up out of his Honda on the corner of my street (next to a train stop), Diego. He slangs tamales early mornings because the night, bar crowd, guys are made. He can't sell at night and has to use a different colored cooler or get **** up. 6 tamales for $5. Gringo style or caliente; pork, chicken or queso.
That said, I wouldn't hesitate to try both of these in the OP if I was in a pinch and was craving tamales. Doctored up as has been suggested. |

**** that shit? Are you ****ing nuts? Those things will kill you today!!!!
I miss the old ladies in the basement of "Our Lady of Guadalupe" on the west side of KC. But their granddaughters started again. This is what a Tamale is supposed to look like. And it's from Tamale Kitchen $12 half dozen http://thetamalekitchen.org They are really good but you need to grow a pair to go get them 750 Paseo You recognize this place??? https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1048...7i13312!8i6656 Nutrition Facts Serving Size198 G Servings Per Container4 Amount Per Serving 2 tamales Calories...190 Calories From Fat ..90 Calories Total Fat..10g 15% Saturated Fat...4g..20% Cholesterol..25Mg 8% Sodium980...Mg41 Total Carbohydrate...21g..7% Dietary Fiber3g...12% Sugars..1g Protein..5g Vitamin A..6% Vitamin C..0% Iron...4% I'd eat it one with lean beef chili and cheese if she were to fix it, I was drunk, and she was hot

I loved (real) tamales when I was a kid, liked them when I was a teen, thought they were ok as a young adult, dont care for them now. Its really strange, its the only food I can think of that Ive liked less the older I got. Its usually the other way around.

I try to hit him a couple Friday’s a month. Couple tamales, sunny side egg on top. I’ve posted pics of them in the dinner thread even though it’s breakfast. Me, him, Hormel, just part of the food chain.

Friday night Bud Palmer Auction has a guy that's sells dozen for $15 out of a cooler. If I get there soon enough I buy a few dozen.

I've been there, been a few years. A gal from Mulvane used to drag me there, with a trailer.
