The Fast Food Burger Poll
As a spinoff from the Culver's thread, here's a poll about fast food burger joints. I'm putting up the normal poll for all you lazy asses out there, but it really makes more sense to rate them all individually rather than just picking your favorite (since favorites will largely depend on what places you've actually tried). Because of that, here's a slightly more in-depth poll that I'll report on the results of in a few days.

I don't know man. It feels like that's becoming the norm. A decent size burger meal even at McDonald's is gonna run you close to 10 bucks nowadays.

You might be right.
I think it has a lot to do with my perception of Five Guys. I look at it as more of a lunch type place. Quick and casual then be off on your way as opposed to a dinner spot. So basically I end up comparing it to places like Chipotle and Panda Express. $7 for a burrito or a Chinese meal against $10 for a burger and some fries usually means I don't eat there often.. |

this poll is some bullshit - I'm madder than ever right now at daface - not even cool - discriminatory against southern dwellers.
Checkers will rise and sear faces like a champ burger! |

Smashburger is easily my favorite of the chains. Figured it was a regional thing with its lack of votes but was surprised how much they have grown. Their Jalapeno BBQ burger is really damn good.

Same here. At this point though, it's been hyped up too much. I'm bound to be disappointed. It's all you hear west coast people talk about.
I live in Louisiana, not far from the Texas border. Dallas opened up an In-n-Out a couple of years ago, and apparently the drive thru line was over a mile long for the first month or two. Since then, they've opened a bunch more in the area. I still haven't made the six hour drive over there to try one though. My wife is from Cali. I've been home with her twice now, but we never went to In-n-Out either time. They swear they'll take me next time. |

my opinion on Smashburger is spread over roughly 8-15 posts over the last four years or so.
Sadly my opinion differs with yours Miles - unlike our wonderful taste in automobiles. Last edited by Simply Red; 03-14-2014 at 11:08 PM.. |

Only time I have tried it in LA was after having my second drunk burger of the day with the first being among the best I have had (Father's Office) so I had a bad frame of reference. I have tried one of the Dallas locations and thought they were pretty good but nothing amazing.

I had Smashburger in Manhattan when I went to visit my cousin at K State. Burgers were boooooomb. If I recall correctly though, I had the sweet potato fries and they had some weird seasoning on them. Couldn't eat more than a few.
