Chiefs Chiefs linebacker thread

This is the most worrisome position to me.
Terez has heard the Chiefs plan to address edge at draft. If they go there first round, I’m thinking safety with on of the second rd picks. Maybe a linebacker in the second the prospects are pretty weak at that point.

What about Zach Brown? I don’t think he has signed anywhere and had a good year

What is everyone else’s thoughts on how we may improve this position

Didn't Spagnuolo's defences with the Giants always have somewhat questionable linebackers? Or maybe I'm just biased because they started Kawika Mitchell.

Who would be that guy at 29 though?

LB is really thin this draft, it’s like we’re almost needing to move up. If not we would be reaching.

I've said as much in other threads, so I am repeating myself, but...

I dont think the ILB group is bad. Prior to last season, Ragland (in small doses of health) and Hitchens were aggressive, played fast, and attacked. Last season, they were both flat-footed and timid. To me, this isnt an age thing, and it isnt as if they suddenly lost the athleticism they had.
I believe it was either coaching or scheme.
DeLeon was a first-time position coach, and even though I liked what I heard from him last offseason at a clinic (or possibly it was wishful thinking), I wonder if he wasn't in a little over his head.
I think, if a guy falls in their lap in the draft, grab him, but I would value DB and edge higher (and maybe even the right RB).

After signing Breeland and the Honey Badger, I think we can afford to be a little more aggressive early in the draft. They give us enough talent in the secondary, that I feel better about moving up in the first to grab an impact linebacker. One game changer in the middle of the defense would make me feel a lot better.

I think the DL is good enough to be an above average unit. Jones is a star, Okafor is above average, and we have young guys to fill in the rest.

They had Antonio pierce, I don’t believe anyone else was very good

The downside is probably giving up a 3rd round to do so and no 4th round, so may only happen if we can find away away to pick up another middle round pick

Curious about this well. Maybe he is trying to get a 3-4 deal and teams only want a 1-2 year deal

I've been seeing mocks where he doesn't make it past Carolina. I'd use the 2020 2nd from the Dee Ford trade to love up and throw in a sixth
