Question: If we cut Bowe...

What's our cap hit, if we have any?

His cap number is $14m next year. Pre-suspension, cutting him would free up $5m in cap space, with a dead money hit of $9m. Does any of that change now?

Rep to any and all helpful answers. I hate SNR. Thanks in advance.

That...doesn't fit with Smith?
His YAC has went to pot, his hands are as soft as a garden gnomes, and he can't break tackles anymore.

It's time for slow Bowe to go.

I hate Alex Smith because he doesn't not only throw deep, but his intermediate passing skills are also lacking.

Bowe is fine at intermediate route running and can occasionally pop a deep one, as has been proven throughout his career. Don't make me post the GIFs.

But with Alex, his production in those areas of the field drops dramatically.

Because that is who Alex is.

When has Bowe pop a deep one? Maybe in 2010, maybe. That was 4 years ago and Bowe's ability to get behind corners is a thing of the past.

You'll hate Alex Smith for a variety of absurd reasons, but you'll absolve Bowe of his role being inconsistent?

I've loved Bowe for a long time. But there's very few Chiefs who will ever be as maddening inconsistent with his concentration lapses and drops.

Shit man you want a GIF of Huard hitting a bomb to Bowe? I can show you MULTIPLE instances of that.

I can show you ****ing Brady Quinn hitting a deep one to Bowe, too.

Alex just sucks at going down the field.

I most certainly did not. Bowe's strength isn't going deep but he can certainly do so.

That part of his game is almost completely nullified by Alex, though.

So, none of this:

You need Brady Quinn level QBing to hit that pass.

I'm glad you can cherry pick one gif from 2007 and another one from 2012 and claim that Bowe could be some deep threat based on 2 plays - one that he made 7 years ago when he was a rookie.

Alex isn't good at all at going down field, I'm not disagreeing with that.

What I am disagreeing with is that Bowe is missing out on being some deep threat because of Alex Smith.

I didn't say that he was a deep threat. He's not Calvin Johnson.

But can he get deep? Certainly. A few times a year.

Just not with Alex.

Alex hamstrings Bowe.

Every receiver in the NFL can get deep 2 or 3 times a year.

Alex does not hamstring a receiver that's best work is on short and intermediate routes.

Do you put any accountability on Bowe for his lack of production. I'm going to bet you don't because you have the objectivity of a KKK member.

Dwayne Bowe. He can get deep with Matt Cassel. But not Alex Smith.

It's like, Bowe doesn't need separation to get one deep. He just needs to be one on one, and Alex needs to give him a chance. But he doesn't do that. He'd rather run for his life and toss it out of bounds.

Matt Cassel does, though.

No. Because he was doing fine until he ran into Alex "WR Killer" Smith.

Dwayne Bowe, yards per game:

2007: 62.1
2008: 63.8
2009: 53.5
2010: 72.5
2011: 72.4
2012: 61.6
2013: 44.8
2014: 48.7

Now, what changed? Yeah. Yeah.

Alex Smith came to town.
