Lamb roast
A friend gave me 2 lamb roasts and I want to cook it in the masterbilt at 225 to 150 degrees... any tips on what to rub it with?

Last time I made lamb I spiced it with olive oil, garlic, paprika and a dry red wine and cooked slooooooooooooowwww. Thyme is one of the few spices that never sees my kitchen. Yucky stuff.

I got two of these free from my kids boss, she said she does not like lamb and they were given to her from the meat supplier for her restaurant... we don't see much lamb here unless they are chops, wonder how much one of these cost?

I like the whole idea of a marinaded lamb roast but I'm not sure how smoking one would taste. Slow grilling ok, smoking maybe too strong flavor.

I have nothing of any use to add apart from "Why do people even eat lamb"?

It tastes like slightly rancid beef. Well, unless it's in a Gyro but honestly, you could make that rack with ground beef, the same spices and the right tsatsiki sauce and a Gyro would be just as good.

smoke the shit outta that lamb. i've done one on the smoker with cherry and hickory. there is absolutely no difference from smoking beef to pork to lamb. your rub and baste sounds perfect. one thing to consider on the next one is to cut small pockets around the roast and insert garlic clove slices.
