Peter King Mock: Chiefs trade up for Parker
Peter King's 2015 NFL mock draft has Kansas City Chiefs trading up for a WR
By Joel Thorman @JoelThorman on Apr 28, 2015, 7:16a 132 The Kansas City Chiefs certainly have the ammo to trade up in the 2015 NFL Draft with 10 total picks and four selections in the top 100. Sports Illustrated's Peter King believes the Chiefs will use those picks to trade up and select Louisville WR DeVante Parker. King's mock, which you can see here, has the Chiefs trading up from No. 18 to No. 15. The Chiefs send a fourth and a seventh to the San Francisco 49ers to move up three spots. Here's what King said: I would be surprised if Parker is still hanging around at this pick, but if he is, I think Chiefs GM John Dorsey would jump at the chance to grab him—especially ahead of Houston, which wants a receiver high in this draft. I might argue that no contending team has as big a single position need as Kansas City at wide receiver. No Chiefs wideout caught a touchdown pass last year, and now Dwayne Bowe has been let go (to Cleveland). The 6-2 ˝ Parker's a perfect pick for Dorsey and Andy Reid. Dark-horse pick here that would not surprise me one bit: Florida offensive lineman Cam Erving. MNChiefsfan wrote a nice piece on Parker, which you can read here. I'm not a huge fan of trading up but at least the Chiefs are giving up a fourth rounder and not a third. Peter King says the Chiefs are among the teams looking to trade up -- if a great receiver is there. I see receiver as a need for the Chiefs but maybe not one at the level that King suggests. Go back and check out Andy Reid's history with receivers and it would not be unusual at all for the Chiefs to enter the 2015 season with largely the group they have now. The Chiefs can obviously get better at receiver but to the point where trading up is a necessity? I'm not so sure about that. King's mock has six receivers in the first round. 3. Amari Cooper 13. Kevin White 15. DeVante Parker 16. Phillip Dorsett 19. Breshad Perriman 25. Nelson Agholor http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2015/4...efs-trading-up |

I'm all for trading up whenever possible.
10 picks (most of them late) are not going to make this team. Use your resources to take difference makers. |

I'd happily swap that 4th for a 3rd if we could get Kevin White.

Petey King, you have made a fan of me, this is a very good idea when you have the extra picks we do... Parker not only brings the speed I desperately desire, but also the SIZE to keep this corp from being a bunch of smurfs.
Love the "bottom line" segment of my draft guide... "his physical abilities guarantee NFL success. He needs a quarterback that trusts him to win the contested ball"... do we have that QB? |

This is the first time I can recall any pundit suggesting that KC might move up the draft.

This is the first time I've seen a major national pundit talk about the Chiefs at all this entire offseason... this team got more media play during the Edwards/Haley years.
