I actually did try some horse meat at a yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto, one of those places where you cook the food yourself at a small grill at your table. It was incredibly delicious.

I'm thinking that this thread may just end up being Hall of Fame worthy. Some of the commentary is priceless. CP never fails.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't barbeque him there

Indians are particularly flavorful, I hear. Something about all those spices that they eat.

The other meat processors do not want it viable, it would create competition for beef, pork and chicken.. It would drop the prices and their profits..
That is my only info from when I worked pork.. Same with certain pork company that is Chinese owned now, they own most of the pork farms, they instructed the farmers to kill of young pigs to drive up prices and demand. Then added to their increased international sales made insane profits. Seems it has came down since I left. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horse_meat One version I've heard - eating horsemeat was encouraged by the Norse religion, part of some rituals, etc...so not as encouraged by the good padres as they tried to make N. Europe change over to Christianity. There's no real reason we don't eat horse meat - or dog meat. During WWII there was a lot of horsemeat eaten in Great Britain. And rightly so.

I don't think you understand how muscles and shit work. After you get tired of chewing your horsemeat, maybe you can advance to pronghorn antelope... |
