Raiders signing Aldon Smith, Reggie Nelson visiting Oakland

Raiders and Aldon Smith have agreement in place, source told ESPN. Smith was spotted at team building today, trying to finalize deal. - @AdamSchefter

And Bengals free-agent safety Reggie Nelson headed to visit/meet with Oakland later today/tomorrow, per source. - @AdamSchefter

Billay's on the Raider bandwagon.

We're safe, fellas.

Unless Carr takes the next step into elite (I'm talking top 6-8 QBs) and/or Houston simply doesn't come back as the same guy, the Chiefs are a better team and it's not even that close.

And as someone that actually likes Irvin and has been shoveling dirt on Hali for a couple of years now, I'm still willing to say that Hali is a more impactful player than Irvin is. Perhaps Del Rio will find some way to get the pass-rush potential out of him that he showed as a rookie, but A) it seems unlikely and B) that ain't 'on paper'. So if you're just trying to say the Raiders are better on paper, you're simply making shit up.

I never said they were better than us but outside of maybe 4 teams just about every team in the is even. Hard to argue the Raiders haven't seperated themselves from a lot of those average teams.

As far as the Chiefs go there's a lot of questions. When will Houston come back? Can Gaines play a full 16? If not who do we have? My biggest fear is we keep trying to force the ball to Charles. We were a better offense without him because we opened things up. On the flipside there's a lot to love about this team: Dline, Oline are both top 10 units, good qb, rbs and if Conley developes a really good WR core.

That's it right there. If Carr improves on his play from the first half of 2015, Raiders are a threat. If he plays like he did in the second half of 2015, Raiders are an 8ish win team.

Thanks, I guess. I think a better RB would help Carr as much as anything else the Raiders could do in the draft.

All these moves look great for the Raiders on paper.

The problem is that new guys almost always take a year to settle in with their new team.

With so many FAs the team is probably pretty rough this next year.

I'm more nervous about their draft picks than their FA's honestly. Reggie has done a great job in the draft the last 2 years.

He definitely learned from Ted Thompson.

Overrating or not, they are a good bunch. But guess what? The Chiefs are doing the same things. We gloss over it though because they weren't top 5 picks.

Guys like Peters, Kelce, Maclin, even a guy like Mitch Morse...

Dorsey consistently has made great additions to our team over the past couple of years like Reggie, but it's undervalued because they were early picks, and we were already winning games instead of being 'on the rise'..

That's of course because we already had our Mack in Houston. And we already had Smith, who I believe through and through is a good quarterback.

Slot WR: Streater = Roberts

C: Morse > Hudson

Poe, Bailey, Howard > Williams, Edwards, Ellis
Houston = Mack (can't go wrong here with either)
Hali > Irvin (Aldon probably gets the nod if he is playing)
DJ> Heeney

Peters = Smith (being generous)
Gaines < Amerson (both young promising players)

Parker > Asante? McDonald?
Defense: 8-1 Chiefs with 2 'ties'

Can't see how anyone thinks Oakland is even better on paper, let alone on the field
Raiders Chiefs record the last 5 years?

6-6

All this paper stuff is meaningless.. even as bad as Oakland has been- they always seem to find a way to beat the Chiefs- The last 5 years the head to head matchup is even at 6 wins a piece- Just saying-

Didn't win at all last year just sayin. You got one win in '14 off a monsoon TNF game. '13 you got swept.
