A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.

A few quick ground rules:

No Spoilers!!!!! for upcoming episodes.
Larger Song of Ice and Fire discussion should be limited to the other thread although I think a tiny bit of book delving to fill in holes should be okay (example of this would be talking about Catelyn and her treatment of the wolves in the novel, which was alluded to on TV but never really made clear...)
Everything that happened that week is fair game once an episode airs. So if you don't watch on Sunday night, I'd stay outta here until you do...

The Lyssa/Sansa and Arya/Hound scenes were fantastic. The whole Vale arc is one of my favorite parts in the book and the scene were Lyssa is squeezing her hands and going batshit hit those same tones perfectly. It just gets increasingly creepy and ****ed up it's awesome.

The entire series of events in Westeros were set in motion by the poisoning of the Hand of thr King. That's the entire reason that Catelyn hates and mistrusts the Lannisters (the letter from her sister). It's the reason the Starks came south. It's the reason for the entire instability of the realm, and Baelish orchestrated it all.

I knew it was significant what was said but I couldn't recall who he had poisoned and what the letter was exactly and when we even saw it. I imagine many people wouldn't get it right away. Thanks for clearing it up.

And FINALLY a display of the entrance to The Eyrie. One of my favorite parts of the early books.

Of course, from a siege engineer's point of view, that low cliff and tiny gate wouldn't stop any self-respecting medieval army, but I went with it.

Right, because buying the series on DVD or Bluray isn't paying for it. Hopefully people who are "stealing" the show as it airs live, which BTW the producers have made statements that seem to encourage, are buying the season after it airs.

Shit, Littlefinger had Jon Arryn killed? He started all of this shit? That ****ing guy. I still wish Ned choked him out in front of his brothel early in S1.

Yup. And had Lyssa send the letter to her sister, Catelyn, that she suspected the Lannisters, which set House Lannister and House Stark against each other (not that they were ever particularly chummy, but still...)
