Do you even know what a read is? Cause making a deep pass for a TD counts as the right read pre and post snap in every coaches book. Don't quit your day job, cupcake

He doesn't make a read post snap. We're talking about reads that happen after the snap, you ****ing dipshit.

Those deep balls that Smith threw up were pretty.

But just imagine how pretty the Mahomes deep ball will be.

Keep on trolling, fanboy. No way you are serious with this shit.

Alex Smith is the quarterback equivalent of herpes. Luckily though, we are going to be able to get rid of him in about 8 months.

Kelce is a top 2 tight end in the league. Hill is the fastest player in the league. Conley is a lot better than he looks, but is limited by his quarterback. Maclin was still getting open last year, especially toward the end of the season.

Not saying they are the best, or even top 5, but a lot of teams are doing worse than KC.

This conversation came up because of Smith's penchant for missing open receivers. He has difficult reading defenses as the play is unfolding. He doesn't see the field well. This is not up for debate. It is proven fact.

You have been attempting to counter this claim - that Alex Smith struggles to read defenses as the play is unfolding - for a few days now, and then posted this thread, with a GIF of him hitting Tyreek Hill for a TD.

But that GIF does not support your counter argument. Because he made that read presnap. He did not read the defense as the play was unfolding. He already knew where he was going with the ball before the ball was snapped.

This has gotten him into trouble in the past. It is exactly what lead to his two endzone interceptions last year. It worked out this time because Reek made an incredible catch, but it's not any kind of evidence that Smith is good at reading defenses.

You are totally and completely wrong.

You're not going to read the defense once the play starts though. Based in your pre snap read, you will progress from certain players. That's where smith struggles

Hill is raw, Kelce is great no disagreement there but he does need to work on his drops. Conley is a disappointment so far. Maclin had a great year with Alex his first year here so you really can't blame his dropoff last year on Alex IMO. Maclin himself said he had a rough year due to personal problems, not because of Alex.

Our WRs/TEs as a group are decent but nothing special IMO. I will say that if Hill can develop into a great WR we should be fine.

Are you Alex haters going to blame the Chiefs bad run D on Alex too?
