It was an okay trailer.

I do find it funny how similar comic book plots are. The villain always wants to destroy the world for some reason or another and create a "better" one in its place. All the major hero movies have done it pretty much.

I disagree, Wolverine is what ruined the originals. He played his role great, no fault to Hugh. But Wolverine took over the xmen. Made the others, bit part chumps.

I think this movie is going to be bad, but not because it is missing Wolverine.

They were good when they came out, but they do not hold up.

95% of movies in several genres are all rehashed.. it's the unique or certain characteristics of the characters in those plots that make it interesting

I thought the last one was ok, but nothing great, but im glad they essentially rebooted the timeline.

I feel like X-Men has always had the most difficult time generating interesting characters rather than telling straight up superhero tales.

Their best efforts there clearly came in First Class, IMO and its no coincidence that First Class was the best of the series.

This just looks like a really expensive Saturday morning cartoon. Very much conventional superhero fare and nothing terribly compelling about the characters themselves. And yeah, Jennifer Lawrence/mystique as the lead seems odd.

I personally believe the only part that was bad with the first three movies was Cyclops and Rogue. Both were bland versions of their comic book couterparts and lended almost no weight to the overall team outside of getting captured and used as pawns of the villain. Cyclops then gets obliterated in the first ten minutes and Rogue battles with the cure and both become jokes in the third movie. Instead of the Phoenix/Cure/Brett Ratner directing debacle in the third movie they should've just gone with Mr. Sinister to finally give Cyclops a decent story ark and make him look as powerful as he should be.
