The Stack is the very definition of average.
Yelp can be a good tool when a place first opens. I wrote a review for Char Bar noting some obvious technical flaws and the general manager responded to me directly noting that the flaws I pointed out were processes given to the kitchen staff that they'd revisit based on my review. I much prefer Char Bar when sitting at the bar sharing a couple apps with drinks as opposed to sitting down for a traditional bbq meal. I think its cool they can provide both though. Mostly though, I only use Yelp for specific dishes. I pull up a places menu, spot a couple things that I'd want to order and do a search for those items on their Yelp. **** what people think of service, decor, gluten free options or "vibe". |

K&M BBQ in Spring Hill is pretty damn tasty. Haven't had their ribs yet but I get their "Killer Combo" sandwich and it is awesome.
Smokey's in OP has some great ribs at a great price too |

I don't go to BBQ joints for their sides, I go for their meats. I couldn't care less about cole slaw or cheesy corn. Give me some lean brisket, lean pulled beef or pork but most importantly, excellent burnt ends.
Also, I don't go for brown sugary sauces, I like spicier sauce. On the rare occasion that I've picked up BBQ in LA, I always use Gates, Zarda or Rufus Teague sauces. |

I'm not a fan of Gates, but their smoked turkey is great.

I've always loved beans, if they're done right, but don't need cheesy corn and slaw to complete the meal.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I like Bryants. Their ribs are great.
Smoking gun in nkc is pretty cool and good but it's not up there with the big guys yet |

When I rip on Bryants its always about the sauce the meat is fine and smoked perfectly. I mostly use the sauce on the sandwich and to dip my fries in. The sauce is on the side if i choose to dip the meat in and very seldom on ribs. If I could sneak a bottle of Rosedales in I would be fine there.

OK. I'm going to mosey on down to The Stack and try their dinner for two. Might as well go HAM. Not literally. I'll get ribs, burnt ends, pulled pork and sausage.
