It doesn't say "electronic hearing aid".

It does say a hearing aid that "muffled crowd noise and projected the QB's voice", which I don't believe would qualify as a standard ear plug.

Is there a hearing aid that is not electronic? How could it amplify without some booster?
My wife wears hearing aids and they adjusted the level for the tones that her ears have problems with to level out her hearing so I am sure that they could adjust them to a certain tone that would also block out other tones.
