Alex Smith expresses his desire to return to Chiefs in 2018

GO AWAY YOU ****ING LOSER. LEAVE NOW AND NEVER COME BACK.

Alex Smith expresses his desire to return to Chiefs in 2018

Quote:
The Kansas City Chiefs' season ended earlier than they anticipated.

The No. 4 seed in the AFC coughed up an 18-point lead in a 22-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, setting up an offseason of uncertainty.

Chief among that will be quarterback Alex Smith.

Despite leading Kansas City to a 10-6 record and AFC West title, the Chiefs are said to be open to trading the veteran pivot. The team set up its future by trading up in April's draft to select quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Smith has just one year left on his four-year, $68-million contract, and intends to see it through.

"Yeah, I mean, you kidding me? I signed the contract," Smith said when asked after the game if he'd like to stay in Kansas City
, according to Nick Shook of NFL.com.

"I'm under contract for another year, so like I said, I'm not thinking about anything else. Right now, obviously disappointed. Like I said, I felt like we had a good chance, and it's gone."

Under Smith's direction, the Chiefs raced out to a 5-0 start to the season, hit a lull in which they lost six of their next seven games, then won their final four contests.

On Saturday, Smith threw two first-half touchdowns to give Kansas City a 21-3 cushion, but went 5 of 10 for 33 yards in the second half.

The 13-year veteran wasn't prepared to dive further into his future so soon after the loss.

"The game just ended," Smith said. "We'll get into all of that in the next couple of weeks."

He was needed badly when Kelce went down and he didn't step up... We have that kind of WR's on the Raiders too just to let you know I am not picking on the Cheaps

This will be a good test to see if it is the QB or fat Andy. Lose Alex and if the offense is still anemic you have your answer.

I have no idea after this game how anyone can't see the problem here.

In the 2nd half our offense looked exactly like it did during the 6 game losing streak. We know who calls the plays and yesterday the play calling was ****ing terrible...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I can remember at least three, but after the "forward progress" call and the TD completed to himself, I started slamming shots of whiskey because I knew the end of the story.

Hill may have dropped some more and I deleted the game, no way in hell do I ever want to see any part of that again.

I am looking for a fine on the Kelce hit, but of course there was no call. When there was no call, I said to myself, holy shit the fix is in again.

Let's look at the last 2 weeks.

Last week, 14 point lead evaporates. Late in the game, Chiefs have:

1st and 10 on Denver 43. Need a FG to win.

Mahomes makes the right read, but under throws Harris. Many here criticize the decision, saying he needs to play it safe, and work it down for the FG. He does it easily anyway. The threat of the big play keeps the defense honest.

This week, 18 point lead evaporates. Late in the game, Chiefs have:

1st and 10 on Tennessee 45. Need a FG to win.

Smith plays it safe. 'Nuff said.

Throwing deep to Wilson on 4th down is playing it safe?...

Because Smith played it safe, he was in 4th and long.

Mahomes never got to 4th.

You know they are going to call that anytime a defender has his arms wrapped around an NFL QB and is pushing him backwards.

Not bringing up old wounds but I remember when Chiefs fans laughed and laughed at the Raiders when the tuck play happened and I remember saying that if this happened to the Chiefs they would be livid... Well a controversial call happened to the Chiefs and it feels like shit doesn't it? The thing is though, after both calls the Raiders and the Chiefs still could have won the game with a stop but neither could.

You must be talking about the Zombo sack which isn't even controversial, it was simply the right call.

DJ, on the other hand, wasn't "pushing" anyone. He was decleating a mother****er into the ground. It's also not a controversial call, it's flat out ****ing wrong.

The crew from last night doesn't need to have a part time job officiating any more NFL games. And I'm not just saying that because of the calls against the Chiefs, they were horrible both ways.

Agreed.

Doesn't matter who throws the bubble screen when the defense is ready for it.
