Talk me out of my pessimism.

I've read a few threads this forum, and the general consensus has been pretty optimistic around these parts.

I feel a bit pessimistic, and it has nothing to do with Alex Smith, who I actually think is a good quarterback.

My problem stems from the wide receiver position. It's been three years of Dorsey and we still haven't landed a good #2 receiver. And you need two receivers to win in this league.

My concern is at guard. Ehringer and Duvarney-Tardif aren't inspiring at the position.

My concern is at OLB, where both of our passrushers are injured and Dee Ford is a question mark.

My biggest concern is secondary, however. We have one excellent corner and two excellent safeties. Beyond that, the depth is worrying (I'm guessing it was for Dorsey, too, since he drafted three DBs). Gaines and Russell are good talents but neither seems like a true #2. Our safety depth has been robbed, seeing how we've let so much safety talent walk the past couple years. We can't spin gold into straw forever, can we?

Just some thoughts I have. I invite you to give me reasons to hope.

Poe, Bailey, Howard, and Jones stepping up can make average OLBs look better. This is most likely where my hopes will lay.

I'm shocked at how little respect the Chiefs get. I mean everyone is ready to give the Raider's the division and while they are improving, I don't think they are anywhere near where the Chiefs are. Let's face it, it Houston wasn't hurt nobody would question this Chiefs team. Yes we are young at CB, and yes Berry is holding out, but damn when you are worried about guard play, a kid like Ford, and the #2 WR its not like these are third world problems.

Put your money where your mouth is and bet the under on total wins then. Line is 8.5 in Vegas.

All told, if the Raiders do somehow actually end up being good at some point, OctoberFart is pretty much the only Raiders fan that gets to say anything.

Dude has shown his ass on this forum more times than I can count, but there's no doubt he's been loud and proud on this forum during the dregs of his team.

1-6 in the playoffs since the league realigned itself isn't really worth too much "respect"...

I just thought it was funny, ok? Octoberfart is just saying the same thing I've been saying but in a sharper way--KC always wins the offseason.
