I agree. I'm not sold on a CB at #29 when we have a couple holes to fill. Do we need another CB? Hell yes, but I think there are 2nd rounders like Long out there that will prove more valuable in the long run.

Exactly. Granted, she's also a lot more experienced. So is Susan Slusser, who covers the A's for the SF Chronicle. Both of them are terrific reporters.

That is still an incredibly weak depth chart. It's not necessarily a necessity at 29, but a cornerback absolutely should be taken no later than the 2nd round. It's a 1 year deal, we need some young talent at the position unless you want to go into 2020 with the same gaping hole at corner.
