In the first two rounds I only want to draft players where they can compete for a starting job on day one. None of this give them a year to figure shit out like Tahno and Speaks.

Right now we have a team full of JAG's that we're happy to have simply because average is better than gaping Stormy Daniels sized vagina that we had after The Great Purge.

It's not just holes that we have, it's a complete lack of impact players.

I mean, you listed every position aside from Chris Jones and Tyrann Mathieu. That's ****ing everything, dude.

If that's all we get then our defense is probably going to suck. You can never have too many pass rushers. We had three last year and it still wasn't enough to save our crappy defense. That's why letting Houston and Ford walk was such a huge deal. Pass rushers are so important in the NFL now. We went from being set at pass rushers to having it become a big need.

How many "impact" players do you really need or want though?

I mean you've got Jones, Mathieu as for sure guys you can say are impact high level players.

I'd like to see them have a team full of guys that are just good. 11 good solid players vs the 4 elite guys and the rest are meh.

No team has impact players at every position.

I'm not trying to sit here and say that our defense is fixed....because it's not. I just don't think it's going to be as bad as last season. It'll be different sure....but I don't think it will be worse.

There was literally nothing we could do to make this defense “good” in one offseason. If we kept Houston and Ford, our defense would still stink just like last year.

There’s also no scenario where we keep Houston, Ford, and add through free agency.

Our defense will probably be bottom 10. Hopefully we only allow about 21ppg. That may be enough.

The defense will stink to begin the year, hopefully they start to gel under the new schemes and discipline by playoff time

So i'd say two more? Gotta have at least ONE more, at LB. A corner and LB. Or DE. Need impact players there.

And you could stand to upgrade everyone not named Jones and Mathieu.

I would imagine in their mind, Fuller and Hitchens are impact players or atleast they'd like them to be.

Whether that works or not, who knows.

Starting at pick #29, we could find a starting DE and in the second possibly a starting corner (that pick would be guaranteed playing time regardless), and then a LB. That’s all before round 3 where I think we can look for some offense

That's all I've been saying. There is still a TON of offseason left to build this team. I don't think there is anyone here that thinks that Ragland is going to be the starting MLB on this defense. Or that we won't add another DE at some point in this offseason.
