I understand but that's sort of the point about Veach not getting that little extra to help the team. You even pay a little more the 1st year to get the 2nd year option. The player is familiar with the scheme and the team and is likely to be much better in the 2nd year. Oh well, it's over ... not a huge deal but the little things can help a team so much.

That's a helluva lot to ask for in a single draft.

We don’t need 2 pass rushers, only 1 (realistically we’d be hard pressed to find 2 starting caliber DE in the draft). We probably don’t need 2 corners in the draft.

We will likely only have the opportunity to add 3 potential starters on defense. I’m thinking EDGE, safety, BPA (defense)

Scandrick was signed specifically because Amerson was awful

Yea, so you pay a little extra the 1st year or you boost the 2nd year some as a compromise for getting the 2nd year.

I'd hopefully be looking for a LB, FS, DE and CB in this draft. I don't necessarily think the CB has to start day 1....so you can take a higher upside guy and give him a year to get some experience.
