I've said it before and I'll say it again, if this guy stays healthy, we won't be missing Sean Smith as much as most people think. He's quietly been really good in the limited time we've seen him, and still has upside.

In a pre-draft interview on 101 the Fox- Dorsey was giddy over Gaines. He said he had worries about the CB position going into the draft until stepping over and watching Gaines in his workouts.

Not saying it will transfer over to the field or he will stay healthy-but he put a lot of work in the off season and is in great shape according to Dorsey.

Those two clips only confirm what we've all seen... he has all of the physical skills you could ask for

Its really only a matter of staying healthy with him

If his body doesnt repeatedly betray him like a Croyle or a Commings... he will be a baller. There have been no whispers about his work ethic, and we know the coaches are good

Until proven otherwise, that is certainly possible

But he was a very skinny kid coming in, now in his 3rd year... I'm banking on natural physical maturation and pro ball strength and conditioning to make him viable

I find it interesting how some players get labeled as injury prone. Gaines broke his wrist his Freshman year and had a foot injury in what would have been his junior year. He then played 2 full seasons in college without injury and his first NFL season without injury.

Gaines isn't Sanders Commings.
