i apologize if i was disrespectful. but respectfully take a closer look at 1989-1993. it is way more misses than hits. d thomas at 4 overall . but a lot of dreck . go another two to three forward and he had drafts where he got ZERO players. we can agree to disagree.

Dorsey's selection of Mayfield makes me think that he was also a Mahomes guy.

I agree I don't care what anyone says he is a luxury for them they needed a corner. They should have traded down a bit got more picks and a starting corner. **** chubb Pat will evade him and hit the guy who's wide open down field cause they didn't get a starting CB.

I'm still really trying to find what set Baker Mayfield apart from Darnold and Rosen in Dorsey's eyes. It just doesn't make sense to me. I like Mayfield, for the most part, but I don't think he could convince me that he's better than those other two. The Cardinals got a steal in Rosen IMO. If they protect that kid early while they beef him up, kid is gonna be lights out. I think Darnold has a shitload more promise than Mayfield as well. You teach him how to protect the ball on the move (just like I hope Mahomes has learned), he's checks the rest of the boxes. I dunno, Mayfield doesn't have the zip or the size and not having either could be trouble.
I thought the Ward pick was excellent. Easily the best pure CB in the draft at a huge position of need for them and he comes from a school that churns out excellent corners. I don't know what the bitch would ever be there from Browns' fans unless they are straight up idiots. They have Ogbah, who is good, and Garrett, who could be phenomenal. They didn't need Chubb, period. |

I don't think Dorsey "sucked ass" and he undeniably drafted some great offensive players but when you combine his inability to draft defense with the terrible contracts he gave out, you can see why some don't think he was all that. |

I can see both sides of the Peterson vs Dorsey argument. But when it comes to Peterson, I always wonder how much of his drafting was really him. Think about this. When Marty(a defensive minded coach) was the coach, Peterson drafted very well on the defensive side of the ball. The offense, aside from Shields, not so much. Then Marty leaves, Gunther is there 2 years, then Vermeil(an offensive minded coach) becomes coach. Now, suddenly, Carl can't draft a good defensive player to save his life. I think that Marty was the one that deserved the credit for the good drafting in those years. And maybe we had the same situation with Dorsey and Reid. How much of our drafting was really Dorsey, and how much of it was Reid? I guess that we'll figure that out over the coming years. If the Chiefs continue to draft similarly to the past 5 years, then it was probably mostly Reid. If Dorsey builds up the Browns roster and the Chiefs continue to draft well, then maybe it was both of them.

“You can have him,” the NFC personnel man concluded within the group. “Loopy motion. Bad face. Overrated.” Sounds harsh. I know it's one game, but I get the "bad face" comment from the OSU bowl game. I commented before that it was one of the most bizarre 4th quarters I've seen from a QB. He was emotionless and not in a good way. They had a chance to come back in the end and the guy had the urgency of a sloth. I don't think it has to do with Mayfield being that much better than the others. I think it has a lot more to do with Darnold and Rosen being a lot more "meh" than teams want. |
