Has Anyone Else Bought A New Gas Can Recently?

My old plastic gas can developed a leak, so I replaced it with a new one. Apparently, the federal government has mandated that all new gas cans be "spill-proof." Mine has a spring-loaded cap that you have to pull back, which exposes the spout which exposes the plug. Unfortunately, this "spill-proof" design makes it virtually impossible NOT to spill ****ing gas all over the place when filling up the mower...

I was outside, covered in fuel, basically laughing my ass off at the stupidity of it, and was wondering if others have had the same issues?

Exactly, try to find the older gas cans as the new ones are useless and spill all over your hands and floor.

Had to use the neighbors last year to fill the generator when the electricity went out.

Felt like I needed three hands to get it to work.

Cause we all know that a gallon of gas will destroy the environment.

BP proved in their hearings after the spill. That the 1/10 of 1% that Americans spill in gas everyday in gasoline is more than the BP spill every few months.

Dumbass, you forgot to tell them to taste the gas afterwards to make sure there isn't any sugar in it!

Take off cap/spout.
Place funnel into mower gas tank.
Pour gas into it.
Profit.

Or, hiring a neighborhood kid to mow the lawn for me, but I'm somewhat of a perfectionist.

I tried that. The threads on the new can aren't the same as the threads on the old can.

Yeah **** the EPA and their dumbass gas cans and 187 pages of gas can regulation bullshit. Buy a $12 siphone hose (shake a ball bearing to prime) and be done with it.

For some reason I picture you using one of those old-timey mowers like Wally used on Leave it to Beaver.

You can still buy the metal cans with the spring loaded cap an funnel attached. They work great and are well worth the extra money~

Gas cans have been on the decline since they got rid of the yellow vents.
