The Festival of Cruelty

Thousands of dogs, many of them stolen pets, are captured and transported over long distances under horrific conditions to Yulin, a city in China’s Guangxi Autonomous Region. There, they’re held in crowded cages without food or water until they are killed. Often, they are beaten and their throats are slit in front of other terrified animals. Most Chinese citizens reject this practice, and we’re committed to supporting them in ending the festival in actuality.

That's bullshit though with mammals. It's known that stress at the time of slaughter causes meat to taste worse. It's been well studied. Skinning an animal alive is going to result in the worst tasting meat possible. These ****s are just demented.

The energy required for muscle activity in the live animal is obtained from sugars (glycogen) in the muscle. In the healthy and well-rested animal, the glycogen content of the muscle is high. After the animal has been slaughtered, the glycogen in the muscle is converted into lactic acid, and the muscle and carcass becomes firm (rigor mortis). This lactic acid is necessary to produce meat, which is tasteful and tender, of good keeping quality and good colour. If the animal is stressed before and during slaughter, the glycogen is used up, and the lactic acid level that develops in the meat after slaughter is reduced. This will have serious adverse effects on meat quality.

We kill over a million dogs in shelters every year here in the USA. Thats not the issue for me. You want to kill some dogs and eat them in China, not my thing but its your country.

Now taking someones pet and making them lunch is pretty cruel too. I guess thats what got me on this story, Thinking that someone would kidnap one of my dogs, skin it alive and eat it.

Well the people in the tweets don't seem like the sharpest tools in the shed. They look to be interested in the cruelty, the power over the animal more than tasty meat.
