Charles, who has missed the last two preseason games because of a bruised foot, has practiced this week and said he “feels good.”

The Chiefs said Charles bruised his foot a few weeks ago while carrying a box out of a dorm at Missouri Western, where the Chiefs held training camp.

“Yeah, it was a freak accident and I’m just happy to be healthy again,” Charles said.

Charles said his three carries in the preseason opener against Cincinnati was enough work, and he’s ready for the regular season.

“I’ve been in the league for a long time,” Charles said. “I’ve had plenty of carries before, so having three carries in the preseason doesn’t make me … those stats don’t even count. The real game counts week one against Tennessee, and that’s all I’m worried about.”
Injury report

Outside linebacker Tamba Hali missed practice because of a swollen knee and he likely won’t make the trip to Green Bay. Offensive tackle Eric Fisher (illness), wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) and Junior Hemingway (hip) did not practice and are not expected to play on Thursday.

Charles should be treated just like Adrian Peterson. Never play in a preseason game. He simply doesn't need to.

this is the first year in my life I haven't watched a lick of Chiefs preseason football

I watched at BW3, accidentally, for like 5 minutes

other than that...nope

don't care

my interest in the Chiefs, astonishingly, is at an all-time low

I'm sure I'll still watch every second of every game this year...but I don't think I'm going to be "throw my remote" angry this year because I currently have us as a 6 win team.

I'm actually more excited to see this game then the first 3 games. I want to see what the backups can do with more reps. Plus I'm secretly hoping that Chase shits the bed for the 1st quarter.

If he can get hurt carrying a box, playing against another teams players wanting to make an impression and light him up??? Forget that.

He gets hurt in game 1 our season is over, so be it. But, not pre-season.

I hope Berry plays a quarter to a half. He needs it imo. He hasn't seen any action and the defense needs him back there making the calls like he will in the games. He hasn't done that in a real game before.

Absolutely not.

There won't be any other starters on the field. There's no benefit to him calling defenses for a bunch of guys that won't be on the team after this weekend.

He needs to be 100% healthy going into the season.
