300 yards in on game receivers

I saw this piece on NFL.com the other day. I guess that it has happened 6 times in NFL history. The most recent was in 2016 by Julio Jones. I was shocked to learn, although many of you old timers probably remember well, that a Kansas City Chief was one of the 6. Stephon Paige had 309 yards in a game in 1985. That got me to thinking. I could seriously see Mahomes to Hill for 300 yards at some point. With Hill's speed, and Mahomes arm, they could it. Wouldn't that be fun to watch? Why don't some of you who remember that game tell us a list out Paige's big day? I would love to hear more about it. They didn't mention the quarterback that day. Was it Bill Kinney? I just can't imagine how that happened. In that era, defenses we're actually allowed to play.

I guess that would be the Blackledge era. It's funny. I didn't like football as a kid, so I totally missed that era. I graduated high school in 1990. I went to school at MU and joined a fraternity. I got season tickets because our house had a block of seats together and everybody went. Mizzou was horrible then. Yet I still managed to get into the game of football just by going to the games. I started watching the Chiefs games on Sundays, and next thing you know, I was hooked. I guess that it helped that Marty was leading the Chiefs to the playoffs most of the time, and of course getting Joe Montana in 1993 was a bonus. I don't know why I never got into it as a kid. My dad has always been a big Chiefs fan.

Yes

Nowadays I can always count on the Chiefs to win after Mizzou chokes on Saturday. Used to be the opposite

Love those teams but they make it hard.

Mahomes makes being a fan easy

They were stacking the box to stop our dominant O line and run game. We got him over the top on a few big ones, then a bunch of mid range catches.....

Actually, Blackledge AND Kenney both played QB the day Paige went over 300 yards. It was a combined effort.

You heard Baldinger. "Everybody eats" in this Patrick Mahomes offense.

I doubt we'll see Tyreek crack 300 with Mahomes. Not unless we see a ton of injuries to all our best dudes going into a game.

This. For example, the 2016 Falcons were Julio and some running backs. That's how you get 300 in a game. The diversity of the Chiefs current offense would make this task nearly impossible(note the "nearly". I'm not totally ruling out any possibility with 15 at Q)

Mahomes and Hill could do it on 4 targets though.

I saw the 309 yard game. I don't recall much about it other than Paige picking up a lot of yards.

Paige was very good. He started out as a bit player, but he had an uncanny knack for converting third downs and eventually took the starting spot. He might be the second-best receiver the Chiefs have ever had until Tyreek arrived.

Stephone Paige had the best hands of any Chiefs WR ever. Some of the catches he made, while contorting his body, were just insane.

A few highlights from Stephon Paiges 300 yard game.
