I don't think the writers have any idea what they're doing themselves. That's why it's had 4 show-runners in 4 seasons.

Some people enjoy filler. I dislike it. The show has ALWAYS been slowly paced and dialogue driven (anyone mad about that is a moron for watching longer than the first few episodes) but it's gotten to the point where so much of what is shown is essentially meaningless. I mean most of what happened in the first half of season 4 was filler. Outside of the Carol stuff nothing that happened really mattered until the finale.

So yanno what I did? I stopped watching it and this will be my final complaint, which is more an expression of disappointment.
