The Chiefs spent a ton of cash last year. They were NOT cheap like Pioli and King Carl. You can't go on a ****ing spending spree every year and not have consequences in the future.

Dorsey said he was building the team primarily through the draft. Based on what this scouting department showed last year, including Dorsey, I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt at this point in time.
And don't give me the homer shit. Last year Dorsey was a damn good GM and it took us to the playoffs.

It's not being a homer to have faith in a GM that proved his worth last year.

Proved his worth? Are you ****ing kidding me. What did he do to prove his worth?

His draft was marginal at best in their first year in the league, his free agent spending spree was pretty blah as well, and by all reports, he got fleeced in the Alex Smith trade giving up more than any other team was even close to willing to give up.

At best you can give the guy a C+, mainly for bringing in alot of scrap heap guys that turned out pretty well.

So yeah, all that shit you just said, is being a homer.

I'm pretty pissed about losing Schwartz for only 4 mil a yr. Lickenback is scrapheap, my BOD {bene of Doubt} is running alittle thin at this point. Dors better knock some shit out of the park Draft day AND make some FA wave 2 moves as well. Let's improve the team.

How can you grade a draft or a trade of a QB after one season?
3-5 years from now you could be looking at some or all of the QB,LT,OC,RB,S,DE and LB on a SB team.
Isn't this how you build a team?

Our rookie of the year was a guy that was drafted by the 49ers.

The first overall pick didn't even play in the playoff game.

What does that tell you about the draft class and how much of a benefit of the doubt Dorsey deserves for future drafts?

What was the best pickup we had last offseason?

Draft or free agency.

Seriously...Donnie Avery?

Fasano was crap
Nobody from the draft class did anything
Schwartz was pretty good, but we let him walk
Sean Smith?
Marcus Cooper?
Devito?

Think about it.

I'm reserving judgement on him until after he signs his 100+ million dollar contract. I mean, he played well (you know how I feel about him after the Denver game) but his age can't be swept under the rug and if we give him a contract other Tom Condon qbs have gotten (Romo, Cutler, Ryan, Stafford, etc) then the trade will have been a big waste IMO.

Should have just drafted Geno/Glennon/Manuel and had an extra second rounder in this draft as well if we end up giving up 2 second rounders AND give him a mega deal.

I mean, if they won't give Schwartz 4/yr...can they give Smith 17+/yr?

We could still probably land Glennon for a lower round pick...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Dorsey didn't get fleeced for anything. Alex Smith was every bit worth what we gave up. Kaepernick choked AGAIN by throwing incredibly stupid passes that got intercepted. Guarantee Alex Smith doesn't do that.
Speaking of Alex, 44 goddamn points without Jamaal Charles and arguably the best performance by a Chiefs QB in a game, ever. That's getting fleeced?

If you're going to bash Dorsey, at least know what you are talking about. Kelce and Commings being hurt has nothing to do with Dorsey, because as far as I know, these guys missed games in college because of off the field actions, not injury.
Judging a goddamn rookie class right now is the same stupid shit people did last year with Poe.

Anthony Sherman was a fantastic trade. Total and epic rape. Marcus Cooper was one of the most game impacting rookies of the whole class. Mike Catapano showed a lot of promise for a goddamn 7th round pick. Knile Davis flashed very promising talent in his late season opportunity. Sean McGrath was a great pickup off the ****ing scrap heap.

So basically you're judging Dorsey in this draft on 2 of his first 4 picks that didn't even play last year, but will this year. Congrats.

Lets break it down.

Would you rather have:

Option A)

Alex Smith

-or-

Option B)

Glennon/Smith/Manuel
Kiko Alonso
A second rounder in the 2024 draft (which is the equivalent of a first rounder in most drafts)
Jarius Byrd (9 million of the 17 we will give Alex Smith)
Evan Deitrich smith (3.7 million per year...steal)
Alturan Verner (6million per year)

I like Alex Smith, but I'd take option B

Hell I didn't even mention DeVito or Schwartz or Sean Smith, who were damn good additions in free agency.

Last year was the best offseason I've seen this team have in a LONG time.

I'd be happy if we did.

The guy played well for a rookie and a guy like Andy Reid could coach him up.

You would make a post like this about any draft class the Chiefs could have.

We got NOTHING from A WHOLE DRAFT CLASS STARTING WITH THE FIRST OVERALL PICK IN THE WHOLE DRAFT.

It's obvious that your standards for this front office are dirt floor low.
