I know there are 3 types that can be used in different mods, but 2 are used primarily unless your mod comes with an adapter. Are these safer? Better dimensions to allow for smaller / slimmer device designs? Capacity seems similar.

Now this is crazy!
I had no idea that the Teslas used 18560 batteries. I know the car has a battery "sheet" that runs the length and width of the car to equally distribute the weight to all 4 corners of the car- which helps in how the car handles and corners. I knew that the sheet was made of smaller interchangeable cells, so they can be swapped out effeciently from a removal and replacement standpoint, and cost effective solution so 1 giant cell wouldn't have to be replaced all at once. I always just assumed that they were flat cell batteries, like you see in cell phones. Turns out they are a special proprietary 18650 Tesla invented with Panasonic, and Panasonic supplies them with. https://electrek.co/2017/03/22/tesla...ell-breakdown/

From what I can tell they run cool at higher loads, last longer than the 18650's, and can be charged under a higher amperage without degrading the battery. It's only a slight improvement but if the market picks it up then that's where vaping will eventually go. |

So, having settled in with my Joyetech Primo, I am happy with my selection.
I seriously still can't make up from down in accessing the menu and settings. Full disclosure, I haven't spent more than 10 minutes really trying, and haven't read the user manual. That said, I have never experienced playing with new tech or a device that I had to read the instruction manual to get the lay of the land of the UI & menu settings. They are just that obscure on the primo due to the limited buttons. It's just not an intuitive interface. That said, I have ultimately happy because it's primary job is to vape, and using the Cubis rank for mouth to lung vaping is a great and consistent hit. Plus, the frequency that I have needed to swap out for a new coil is much improved. Not exactly sure why? It still chews through the battery quite a bit faster than my Sigelei, but the spring loaded door and battery tube makes for a faster swap out than the tension contacts and magnetically secured door on the Sigelei.

10.5 - 13 watts. 90% it's at 11-11.9.

I have been doing 12 Watts since I got my 1.8 Ohm coils in, before I was doing around 15 on 1.5 Ohm coils. At 12 Watts two 18650's last ridiculously long on my Fuchai. I got through a five day work week without changing batteries. I am tempted to find a cheapo single battery mod because of it.

Label me weary. EDIT: Are they sized differently? They looked to be the same size as 18650s in the pic. If they are formatted to the correct chip then disregard this statement. If they can be plugged in to any current mod (it would be a brave notion to hope to reinvent mods to format a new battery design. It would be like offering a tank that fits who threading rather than 510), then I remove my above statement.

Who knows? I would prefer slimmer I think. I want to get my hands on some of the proprietary Tesla 18650s! That battery is still around 83% capacity after 3000 cycles!

I'm truly not trying to sound facetious, but if it costs less to buy and replace then so be it. That battery life sure is impressive though. Thanks for the info. If you see anything else, please share.

Also a lot of the chargers would work with both. I use the Efest LUC V4. It's compatible. It is similar to this one shown with an 18650 and a 20700 charging:
