I'm surprised you are having trouble with a Honda small engine, they have always been rock solid for me and I won't buy anything else. I have a 15 yr old Porter Cable pressure washer and the Honda engine on it has outlasted 2 pumps and always fires right up.
With that said, don't ever run ethanol through any small engine, that shit will **** up your carb over time. |

I am sure you prolly already thought of this but pull the spark plug and wire brush it a bit. It may just be a little carbon buildup on the electrode.

I hear you loud and clear. I have a little cultivator with a stihl engine and I tried to start it yesterday and finally got it to start and idle but every time I tried to give it gas it would die. ****ed with it for about 30 minutes until I was worn out from pulling on the rip cord and tossed it across the yard . My neighbors think I'm dangerous for sure!

Yeah I use all 91 Premium Octane no Ethanol. So it's not ethanol that's the issue. Man, a totally new carb kit on Amazon is $18. It pisses me off that an $18 part can screw up my whole weekend, but so be it. I'm going to just start swapping out a totally new carb every season like putting on a new lawn mower blade. Not worth the hassle trying to take the old one apart. Maybe I'll put this gas powered pressure washer up for sale and buy an electric one. I'm really getting to where I don't want to screw with gas powered small engines any longer, period.

I went lawn-free many years ago and don't regret it a bit. We have a xeriscaped yard. It looks nice and it's low maintenance. We've got finished patios and decks if we want to sit outside, so losing the lawn didn't hurt us in any way.

I have gone to electric (battery) as much as possible. Trimmers, chain saws etc. A corded washer might be the cure.
What advantages does a gas washer provide vs corded? Power? Portability? Our power washer is hit or miss each year. I bought a cheap one years ago and still runs, but with fingers crossed. I am surprised as well that the Honda motor doesn't fire. Just bought one of the these. Titan PGD2875 Homeowner, Light Duty, 4 Stroke Gas-Powered Post Driver https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I don't think they make a battery pounder. If so, horribly priced. Gas powered post pounder. I need to put in ~100 T-post for the hot wire around our pastures. I sure as heck not going to pound them in with the manual sleeve pounders. I went electric with all my small lawn type devices and that includes an electric power washer. For my use they just work. I can imagine if I had to use them on a more regular basis on larger areas gas would be more efficient but for my needs I tired of mixing fuel and then the damn things were a PIA to get running. Especially after winter.

When you say electric, is that corded or battery.
