He had a very solid and experienced unit across the board last year.

This year is going to be a much better measuring stick for Toub.

He's lost a number of these guys from the roster, and also that have moved up to Starting defensive roles.

He's working with a new and much less experienced special teams cast.
I'm pretty sure that last year proved how great Toub is. Finally cut down day, the Chiefs picked up what was it ? 6 guys? And I believe that most of the guys cut were key players from special teams. He had to rebuild his unit after training camp and still fielded one of the best ST units in the league. The man is an amazing coach.

There's only one good thing that can be said about McCluster.

He had the surest hands on the team.

But he had no speed.
He had no elusivenes.
He had no tackle breaking ability.

So, you had a guy that would make that 5 yard catch on third and 8, and because he had no yac ability because of the above mentioned flaws, he would always come up short of the first down.

So, yes, he was every bit as bad as has been suggested.

Not a big McCluster fan, but if he puts up only 500+ yards in a season, it's because he sucks. If Donnie Avery does the same thing, it's because he sucks. If Dwayne Bowe only puts up 600+ yards, it's because Alex Smith sucks.

You don't see a difference?

Bowe's shown that he's capable of putting up 1,200+ plus yards and 15 TDs with shit show QBs. So when Alex comes to town and our RB leads the team in receptions and yards, we tend to think it has more to do with the QB than the WR..
