We were out-coached..

...and short handed on Offense.

It was evident watching the game. I don't think Sutton should be back next season but thats just me.

Can't blame Reid at the end of the game. We needed two scores, playing for TD plus an onsides was obvious against Bill and the Pats.

Next, for some inexplicable reason, we run the ball at 2:30. It's the only play we got off before the 2:00 warning.

Next we get the Fisher false start and then the pass to the 3 by Avant -- and they (WTF) huddle up and run the next play at 1:27 which results in the penalty and the ball at the 2.

The next play they punch it in at the 1:18 mark.

1:37 to go 1 yard. Inexcusable and completely on the coaching staff for the stupid play calling and terrible execution.
Agree 100 percent on this take. There were multiple things that needed to happen for us to have a chance at tieing the game and the first thing that needed to happen was score a td before the two minute warning. Total lack of game situational awareness by the coaching staff.

We got a terrible spot on Wilson's lunge at the goal line and should have thrown the challenge flag on the spot. First of all it would have stopped the clock and preserved the two minute stoppage which is essentially an extra timeout. If we win the challenge on the spot we stop the clock and keep the timeout. Huddling up under two minutes with the clock running is the dumbest thing that we could have done at that time. .unbelievable.

Gotta say the Chiefs need at least a rudimentary no huddle offense besides spiking the ball but it seems Big Red won't give up the control.

yup

injuries were a big problem for us but so was coaching

Reid and Sutton both failed to maximize our talent and exploit the other team's weakness.

Patriots used scheme to help them win, we did not.

It was a good season. Only good teams can make a 10-0 run even though it was a very soft schedule. The weakness is this team isn`t built to come from behind and score quickly. The games where the Chiefs came from behind, it was helped with a huge ST`s play or defensive TD. While Smith is a very efficient QB, this offense settled for 3 instead of 7 too many times. First half of yesterday makes my point, Pats scored 2 TD`s to the Chiefs 2 FG`s. Smith is a smooth efficient QB most of the time but also missed several opportunities with open WR`s deep yesterday. He is efficient to win a lot of games but needs the outside help of the D and special teams because he just doesn`t have that "clutch" ability to carry the team all the way when needed. Elite QB`s make those needed throws deep in 4th quarters. Maybe his efficientcy is not turning the ball over is what kills him late in games when needing to be risky to thread some needles. I don`t know...

Yeah offense was so embarrassing that we had basically a 38-22 TOP, without our best WR. We controlled the clock, we just weren't able to capitalize on a few drives (we were plying a pretty good defense in a hostile environment). We played about as good a game as could be expected given the circumstances. Look back into recent history and you'll see the Pats are almost an impossible out in their stadium in the playoffs. Our mistakes were the difference, the Davis fumble was huge, but we had opportunities in defense that were missed also. If we make any of those picks, or Davis doesn't fumble and it's possible the outcome is different.
Where I will agree with you is on the horrendous clock management in the 4th quarter. No excuse for it taking that long, which also could have contributed to a different outcome. But if you think Andy didn't have a good offensive game plan then I'll have to disagree. We did what you have to do to beat Brady, keep him off the field, TOP shows we did that offensively, defensively we were up against the Pats in their stadium, in January, not many teams can stop them with those circumstances,.

We were out coached as expected. However, Belichick's management closing out the game was just as bad as Reids. Had that last pass gone for a pick 6 no one would be talking about Reid's dip shittery. There was also a series with around 6 minutes up by 2 scores. The game is over and you are stopping the clock with incomplete passes. Honestly, Belichick has had a few horrible moments himself this year. My enjoyment of the NFL has gone down because this kind of shit is common now. It's like watching kids play Madden. These are some of your better coaches doing this shit.

Not sure how many times I saw Branch line up in the slot against Edleman. What made it even worse was he wasn't even playing press coverage.

Alex Smith was harassed all game; Brady was barely touched. That was the game. Only our key 3rd and 4th down conversions kept us in the game. NE dominated up front in the passing game on both sides of the ball. Damn near impossible to win when that happens. They did to us what we assumed we'd do to them.

It is a little worrisome that our D looks as bad as it does when we get zero pressure. Perhaps that's just the modern NFL.

I don't know how anyone can watch these games and blame the lack of pressure by the defense on the defense being dominated at the line.

The lack of pressure was because Brady got the ball out too damn fast to generate any pressure.

The lack of pressure was because Sutton did absolutely nothing to disrupt the timing of those short routes.

Brady held the ball for longer than 2 seconds maybe 4 times for the entirety of that game.

Sweet, now tell us again how awesome Jack Diarrhea is again. He's surely got a better record and playoff record than Big Red right? Oh yeah, almost forgot your math skills are well below average, you're a Fade fan. You better stick to things you're marginally better at, like dish doggin it at the local Waffle House.
