Either way, winning 9 straight conference championships in a major sport is by far the greatest accomplishment in the Midwest sports history. It's not even close.

Pretty sure that they didn't play a ranked team all year to earn a bowl bid, dumbass. Oh yeah, they played one and lost causing them to finish 3rd and play an almighty ACC football powerhouse. Tech would have been the 5th best team in the Big 12 that year.

Every team strives to be national champions.
Being a national champion trumps all. In my opinion. |

I don't think he forgets about anything. It's all incorporated into his ratings, just like your blowout loss to Baylor was this year.

Here's what MU fans seem to forget or simply just can not understand. It's not KU's fault that MU's athletic director is an incompetent pos. KU's AD did what it took to make the selection committee select them over MU. Was it a bullshit decision? Of course, MU was a better team and beat KU that season. But hate the game, not the player. Had the right decision been made, it'd be MU fans pounding their chests about beating an ACC team, not KU fans.

You seem to be quite confused. MU did beat KU, but then - TCU beat KU in basketball last month too. So what? In fact, OU beat them twice that year, but lost 3 other games and finished behind MU in the final polls. Head to head was meaningless. The computer rankings had MU #4 and KU #5 when the BCS bowls were announced. There wasn't a nickel's worth of difference in the two teams according to the only unbiased sources we have. Just wanted to correct you here. |
