Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Took the new underfolder AK out for the first time. I couldn't wait for the weather to warm up, so I went to Centerfire Shooting Sports in Olathe.

The AK performed as expected. No jams, misfires, or any other malfunctions. It was my first time shooting an underfolder, and was pleased with the results. I've wanted one for a while, and finally got one since prices on most AK's have fallen quite a bit over the last few months. After shipping and FFL transfer fee, it was barely over $600. I'll probably add another AK shortly since prices are so low.

Here is a pic from today's session...

Glock 19
Zastava N-PAP DF (7.62 x 39)
Waffen Werks AK-74 (5.45 x 39)

Went down to the local fun store... again.

Started looking at Benelli shotguns.

They had a pretty cool #20 gauge skeet shotgun, super light weight and really nice.

Got to thinking to myself afterwords... is #20 gauge a bitch round or can you actually shoot one and keep your man card?

IMO my Remington 1100 in 20 gauge is my go to shotgun for quail and dove. It's another tool in my tool box.
One of my hunting buddys uses one for turkey. He's had several surgeries on his shoulder and he can't take the recoil of 12 gauge 3" and 3 1/2" magnums. He's dropped a lot of long beards with his set up.

I might have to invest in an AK too. But, there's another gun I've got my eye on and it's, well, pretty damn cool.

They're inexpensive but shoot 410 shotgun and 45, all in a well made lightweight frame... the only true hangup I'm hearing about is the ribbed 410 shells, everything else is 8/10 positive.

Need some help here, want a self defender to go with my BOB 22.
I own one, ultra light stainless.

I like it. never had an issue shooting anything ive put in it. actually keep it in a drawer in my tool box just in case. loaded. I work after hours quite often.

I'd think a 410 would be the start of a MC revoking process. But only if you were spouting on and on about it being your favorite home defense weapon because of its weight and lighter kick, but still in the shotgun family.....

Ive built several, my first suggestion to you would be to order some 1911 rubber bushing & put one at each end of the operating rod. this will keep the OP rod from pounding on the receiver.
